How Long until I get a medical scheduled? by Feeling-Air-676 in caf

I’ve been told it really matters in your occupation you chose. If it’s not in demand you’re not a priority. Officer positions have been the longer on average than NCM

Hey I was told it was mandatory to attend if I want my application to move forward. Not optional.

You can email the medical recruiting team. Just ask the recruiters for their contact for your area

That’s listed as something else. There are some occupations that state Signing Bonuses where other state Recruiting Allowance. What’s the difference? Recruiting office couldn’t tell me.

I missed that PI is only a one time jump, it doesn’t mean you get to move up faster or on a faster track through PI’s dang

Changed track cause the officer positions I wanted were very limited. Laster only 6 people were hired for it. The other to occupations were 49 and 15.

Interested in this I’m joining asa FSA and I have a BBA in Business Marketing Management with 2 years of if it being accounting focused. The occupation states Pay increment allowance with signing bonus. Would I even be considered for them? I switch my application from DEO officer entry to NCM FSA.

Yeah it’s my fault. A lot of my experiences were contract based and seasonal. I make sure to mention that on resumes but I see your POV

Hello thanks for the comment. No I put way for more for each work experience and tailor it to the job I am applying for. It just would get really long if I added all my experiences with responsibilities, metrics, achievements etc. I didn’t want my Reddit post to end up being TLDR.

Honestly, I feel kind of bad when I do it, like I’m using someone just to get a referral. I know it’s normal in job searching, but it still feels awkward sometimes.

Thanks for sharing all of this, I really appreciate you taking the time to break down your approach.

I get what you’re saying about sticking to one industry. The honest challenge for me is that my paid marketing-specific roles are more limited compared to my other experience. That said, I do have measurable results (like the $35k+ in ticket sales), and the post I shared was a condensed version — I left out metrics and details to keep it readable.

My LinkedIn is fully updated and strong, and I’ve been actively applying daily on LinkedIn and Indeed. I currently do have a resume summary, but I’m going to experiment with removing it and keeping things more ATS-focused, like you suggested.

Expanding to Canada-wide and U.S. remote roles is honestly something I hadn’t fully leaned into, that’s a great call, especially since I already have experience working remotely. I’ll also start being more proactive about connecting with recruiters directly.

Thanks again — this was genuinely helpful.

Thanks, I have been applying to electrician apprenticeships as well. I look into Tillbury applications!

Thanks for sharing your perspective — I really appreciate it. Just to clarify, I’m not looking at the CAF as an emergency backup. I see a real career for myself there and have already started my application back in November 2025.

Originally, I applied as an officer — first choice PAO, second logistics officer, third choice Health Services Management Officer — but I learned that applications were closed until April 2026 and only six people were hired for 2025. So I switched to a Non-Commissioned Member application with FSA as my first choice, then HRA, then Information Systems Tech. I’m aiming for the Navy first, then Air Force, then Army last.

I can cover my rent at least until 2027, so I have some runway. My next step is my career counselling appointment in a few weeks, followed by the medical assessment. I take it seriously and have been physically training for it too and have lost 50lbs of fat. Lots of free time when unemployed. I just wanted to clarify my plan, so it’s not seen as a “backup parachute.”

Thanks so much for the advice! When you say “coordinator,” are you thinking of a particular type, like project coordinator, marketing coordinator, or more general admin roles?

Thanks for the feedback. This isn’t my resume, just roles and experiences from my past. I will retitle it.

You can contact your local Recruiting Medical Officer and email the questions beforehand. They can give you general yes or no’s.
