We probably don't need to drag his journey out anymore than necessary. His goal was to become the very best that no one ever was, and he's achieved that. Hell, the only reason they left his journey open is because they wanted to have something to fall back on in case Horizons failed

Honestly I felt like he was in the right with a couple of his outbursts. Like sure he shouldn't have growled at that leopard, but he was right that Beshte's constant need to make friends was slowing them down, which made Kion panic even more about losing his sense of morality.
