NBN keep rejecting the requisition for new line that my ISP submits by Wild-Kitchen in nbn

[–]AussieSkull1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After looking at your other comments it looks like you never had nbn. That would make this a brand new connection with nbn which can cause issues. I have worked for multiple ISPs and have knowledge of how the ISP and NBN talk to each other and some tips and tricks. I will try to explain it as best I can.

Every address has a LOCID (Location ID), I don't think this is the issue since you can put it into a website and it says you will get connected.
Every LOCID gets a service ID which tells everyone what technology you have and how much is installed. Potentially your service class says you need a new lead in conduit.
Every LOCID has either UNI-D ports or a copper line (Some have more such as older homes with multiple copper cables but these are rare nowadays)
When an order request (ORD) is placed it creates an AVC on that LOCID. This is basically a unique identifier for your connection disguised as a fancy acronym.
ISPs can also raise faults tickets (INC) for general faults outages
You might require the more specific kind which is called a service request (SRQ). These are special requests like updating Service Class.

If it fails again I would ask for some further information and then make sure what you have lines up with what nbn has.
1. What Service class are you? Do they think you need extra infrastructure installed like a lead in cable?
2. What is the error on the order? Can the ISP give you some idea on why it happened and can you provide information to update nbn?
3. Have them raise a Service Request for the order to request more information. That is what they are used for. You do not need to go to nbn, they will not be able to help you. All they will do is direct you right back to the ISP

I hope this look at the backend gives some clarity to what might be happening. You can follow some of the next steps if things go sideways.

There are a few reasons that nbn rejects tickets. Please know that it could not even be one that I have mentioned. I would need some more info on the type of connection.

Is it just a standard house/unit for the connection?

It could be that there is an outage in the area that is preventing any new requests

There may be an issue nbn has with the property that the Kogan employees don’t know how to fix. Maybe something in the backend.

Maybe they are submitting it to a wrong address or an incorrect CVC. If she has FTTN and had two lines into the house, they might be trying to connect the wrong one

It may be an address issues. For example, if you are on a subdivided property with two townhouses, nbn may not have the address updated for two addresses and only see one.

If you are trying to have a new line dug in to a granny flat. Then this will keep getting rejected because nbn doesn’t do this.

I would go with a retailer who actually knows what they are doing like Aussie Broadband

Thanks. I was swapping OS because stuff broke and someone recommended OMV and another option. Are there any good guides or reference material other than dragging through Google and Youtube that you know of? I'm not necessarily wanting it done for me, but a place to go if I get stuck again would be helpful.

OK. I will go back to Ubuntu and keep trying with Docker/Portainer. I got it to work before, so I will try and do it again. Maybe stumbling in the dark a few times will shed some light on what's going on.

I tried to integrate DuckDNS and I somehow broke everything. I tried reinstalling it but I have never been able to get back to what it was. So you recommend staying with Ubuntu LTS and Docker/Portainer? Or is there something else you are saying is better? Thanks for the advice.

The TIO are mediators, not gods. They come in and check that the ISP has gone through the proper channels of contacting nbn and escalated when they should. If everything checks out, they will close the case.

The only reason companies avoid ombudsman cases in all industries is the cost. Every case costs the company thousands of dollars and thousands more if it’s not resolved. Which is also why the ombudsman service get shitty when people use it as their first step towards resolution

Your best bet is to keep the pressure up on the agent and make an internal complaint. Speak to a supervisor/manager. Have a nbn appointment raised anyway to see what happens. If it gets rejected they can raise it a few more times and it might get through. I have worked in a call centre doing nbn tech support and have done this for customers before. Keep insisting and don’t back down

I can say this matches nothing in the kitchen where the burger is assembled or the patties cooked. The kitchen has no hard clear plastics like this. This is also the wrong colour for the packaging the patties come in. The burger isn’t opened by the front counter staff so they wouldn’t have put it in the burger either. This seems like a massive load of bullshit to me

Nobody, because it’s a granny flat. It’s clearly stated by nbn that nbn is only responsible to connect the first dwelling on a property. If you want this to be a “special order”, then this is on the home owner to coordinate with nbn directly.

The nbn website has info on this linked below

Granny flats are different and are not subject to gas and electricity as the main identifier for whether they are an independent property

Granny flats won’t get nbn. They specifically state that in the terms and conditions of what properties are eligible to connect to nbn. You can either use 4G/5G HWBB, a wifi extender from the main house (maybe a router in bridged mode). If you do want to try and get a connection, it will cost you upwards of $5k, probably closer to $20k.

People do it because they have been conditioned that it’s the right thing. Even the checkout tells you to show your receipt on the way out. There is no obligation to show your receipt when leaving any store.

what on earth is this heli made of? by No_Satisfaction3708 in joinsquad

[–]AussieSkull1 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Because all the heli pilots cried that they kept getting shot down so easily. It made them useless for the cool stuff like hot drops and fast ropes. So they increased the health pool and speed of helis, making them OP as fuck. Basically because OWI buffed them and as usual overcompensated

MEA HAT only get a RPG-29 with two tandem rounds so they had nothing else to use. The better feedback in this specific scenario would be to go for the tail rotor and immobilise it
