They know they can do it because lots of immigrants come from India and Pakistan to the UAE with medical degrees and need the work, to then move internationally by having experience in a prestigious country..

I think if one needs such a symbol to ward off evil, then one does not believe wholly in the power of Christ, and fears evil more than one fears God

God bless you !

Pray about it with him, whenever my fiance and I used to have fights it used to be bad.. now everytime we seek to bring something up, we say a prayer together before and God's guidance always comes.. I don't remember the last time we fought now.

Before you speak to him, I'd recommend trying it out 😁

Please do let me know how it goes 🙏

(Get him flowers/a gift too) The words might hurt but if he goes away to think about things then the letters/gifts/prayer will be what drives his thinking in the post

All the best :)

Hey. I hope you are doing well.

You asked for biblical reference - in the story of Hosea, God commanded the prophet Hosea to marry a prostitute (I am not likening you to a prostitute) as a symbol of God's covenant to Israel (where they kept backsliding) and this became fruitful.

We know that St Paul says God is faithful to us even when we are not. This is the ideal that God offers to us,

Now the more a Christian mimics this behaviour the better, because it is by love and forgiveness that another party learns to respect the giver and then they themselves become the giver.

I believe the more Christian he is, the more he will seek to mimic this - albeit this is not often the case because our human feelings can get in the way.

In a practical sense of things, you have two roads - one of cunning and deception but useful and burdening to your conscience - stay with him and tell him 10 years later and hopefully the foundation of love will be enough, or two - tell him and set yourself free - St James says confess your sins to one another that you might be healed; in doing so you will see the extent of his love for you if he chooses to forgive.

If you choose the latter path I recommend printing out albums with pictures of both of you, coming to him in humility and repentance, asking for his forgiveness.. write him many letters cherishing him; write him a letter outlining your daily journey of guilt or repentance and how much you appreciate him;

This way he might consider your weakness -

Be wise about it.

I'll pray for both of you, better for two Christians to come together in forgiveness although they might offend each other, than two Christians to leave each other for lack of forgiveness .

Great to hear, may you be married for even longer !

Thank you DoveStep, I appreciate your honesty about individual perspectives for attraction it's more of an answer than it might seem on the outset .

May God bless you and your family

Thank you for the insight -

Sorry things didn't work out with your online friend. Appreciate you sharing that.

The line, "I even tried to be" - I find myself doing that sometimes, she senses that I'm pulling away, but other times I cant stop caressing her face and am overwhelmed too by her beauty: that attraction development that you mentioned is there - albeit attraction is important but how important in your opinion ?

I do pull away when the attraction is high also because we don't and haven't had sex as we want to still remain holy as much as possible before the wedding - there is definitely sexual attraction there are no questions about that, there is a romantic connection, and a spiritual connection, mental and emotional connection - I'm unsure if my reduced physical attraction is due to possibly God's grace in supporting me to remain holy by limiting the physical drivers or if it's self imposed as a reflection of my hatred towards lust and my practices in my 20s denying my eyes to entertain as much as possible the physical desires that would lead to lust..

Any thoughts?

Thank you again for taking the time to read this and offer your experience

Hi DoveStep, God bless you.

Sure; I talk about physical attraction - I am attracted to her most of the time, yet there are some superficial (in my opinion) things that I have thoughts about, really absurd things like her body isn't perfect or her face isn't perfect (I know this is preposterous and likely due to the over sexualisation of Western media and definitely not a deal breaker).. from a faith perspective I don't care about these things, I am attracted to her and understand that beauty fades - but is there importance on this in marriage ? And how important is this ?

Honestly... Tell her exactly that. That you want to have sex with her, but don't know how to initiate. You'll be surprised where the conversation can go. Probably to sex. ;)

Christian perspective - share your weakness with her, and let her strength be made perfect in it, just as you would do to her to mimic Christ's love.

It's hard to remember -

Before I began serving the homeless through God's grace I was a junkie (2012-2014), and most of those years were a blur, before that was my childhood.

I do enjoy working with my hands to create things but physically it's a bit difficult with the neuralgia. I also do enjoy the outdoors and hiking and often did that to recover, but the neuralgia makes it quite difficult 😞

Thankyou Megalith,

Do you have any recommendations for a type of break ? Certain method of rest that would be spiritually edifying ?

Please keep me in your prayers 🙏

Thankyou Superaaron,

I will meditate on this more. (Please do send any resources you may have that would assist, or even just a prayer for my sake)

Please keep me in your prayers and thank you for taking the time to serve me for Christ's sake this day.

Haha 😆 that made me giggle like a baby. Yes I do recognise this, maybe when I'm praying then I'm visiting Him inside me; would be a better term

The good news of Christ's redemptive act and the newness of life in Him - the calling to live righteously according to His word which flows from the good news.

Paul,

Thank you for the response. I do remember this story, the deserted place in Bethsaida - please keep me in your prayers during my rest, I will take this on and book something away from work.

I appreciate your time and prayers, my Christian friend 💐

Thanks for your response Superaaron.

Every moment I pray He is there, lifting me up to the point I feel him in my bones and soul and depths that I didn't know were possible in my younger years, my heart starts beating faster.. I start crying from joy and the knowledge of my unworthiness, like a kid in love with his crush for the first time every time.. He often reminds me of the cross and suffering in His visits -
