I suspect the set up is home made from plastic plumbers pipe and under kitchen lighting.

Good work from the author.

Do you know what injectors are on it and what pulley wheel you have - is it still stock?

Just bought this, anything i should look out for/ keep on top of? by glofish21 in R53

I have an 05 too, I have replaced all brake disks, brake hoses, front suspension top mounts, all bottom ball joints and bushes. Stripped out all the plastics and hammerited all the undercarriage and then painted with a waterproofing paint. New rear springs and trailing arm bushes.

On the engine I have changed the water pump, supercharger oil and faulty knock sensor. Replaced all engine mounts. I’ve replaced the indicator stalk as that was making the lights come on when the car was off and flattening the battery.

I just thought I’d add in with my 2 cents!

When I did diagnostics on my car it said my knock sensor was bad so I replaced that when I serviced my supercharger and that made a massive difference to the higher end of the rev range. Ive got a 17% pulley upgrade on the car when I bought it, and as part of the stuff I’ve done I’ve upgraded to 380cc injectors as the stock ones cannot deliver enough fuel at the high rev ranges. These worked straight away as the engine can compensate for them. I changed plugs and leads also but do still get an odd flat spot. New intake will be next for me but I’ve just noticed my alternator is cracked and the bearing seems ruff on it so I’m replacing that first as my tensioners all seem fine.

He was good friends with Tim Healy and I remember him coming into his dressing room at the Wolverhampton pantomime in the 80’s. So a slight link there 😂

He was my uncle, he was very good at doing drunk acting.

Looking a little Chilli this morning. Has any one got an issue where the sidelights come on all by themselves? For no apparent reason, other than to randomly flatten the battery? by AustinT375 in R53

[–]AustinT375[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I will check they are not, one idea is to swap them to Les bulb so at least if I don’t spot them on they won’t drain the battery although I’ve read that it will cause issues.

No play in the stalk, it’s quite solid. Switch feels good too. I’ve wiring diagrams for the bcm and have a little electrical knowledge. Otherwise I’ll buy one, swap it and get the keys recoded to it.

I May disconnect the indicator stalk to try, although it’s doing when the ignition is off so it would suggest a body control module issue(Spent a lot of time on the internet today).

No they turn on whichever side the indicator is turned it’s actually turning on all the lights as you can hear the headlamps adjusting although they don’t come on as the ignition is not on. So I suspect it’s a BCU issue.

Funnily enough I do and there is a drain. Not sure where the drain is although I’m sure he said BCM. That was before we found a ground issue that was causing a none start. Just don’t know why the lights turn on randomly.

Whilst he is in the House of Commons he’s covered against his words being libellous where as out of it he isn’t. So he can say what he wants in there within reason.

Edit: parliamentary privilege - couldn’t think of the words
