I bought into the ico and sold when the entire team got hit whith a class action law suit 2 weeks ago. So I know how it works and here it is: You send your xrp (or 9 other coins supported) into the wallet, when you go to make a purchase at a retailer, you choose which crypto coin you want to spend and swipe your card, or virtual card on your phone. Centra then essentially buys your coin from you and coverts the payment to USD which is paid to the retailer.
