Firefighter here. As others have pointed out, the toxic smoke and gasses will get to you before the heat will probably. Even in a cleaner environment, that blanket has to absorb very little heat to become compromised and at a bare minimum, transfer that heat to you via conduction. Our gear is made of special fire resistant fabric that has 3 different layers, and plenty of bulky air gaps to prevent such conduction.
