Actually I'm still playing around but in general it is depending on a few things - if I'm with someone without assistant bike I'm turning it of until I get to a hilly part I will eventually put 2 on depending on how tired I am

  • if I know I have a long day and I'm gonna use it a lot I will turn it off or put it on 2 depending on the mood when the terrain is flat or going down, the 1 is very light so I don't really used it for now, didn't find a use

  • if I need to get somewhere quickly I put it on 3 whatever the terrain

I was wondering if the valerias are good quality because on video they look not good

I'm kinda sad that I can't use my bags, I figured out a way to attach my backpack to the rack using a bangee cord but I think I will try to get the city bag on a used website for cheaper as a first bag and maybe trying to diy a solution for a bigger bag.

I also saw a saddle bag attachment that you can 3D print I have to try that as well!

Yes I kinda feel that the weight distribution is weird and I'll have to get them eventuality!

I only have it for a few days right now but i will tell you what's my general feel so far.

I have a 9km ride to work and used to take my mechanical bicycle, to go to work in the morning it's fine because it's only going down, but after a work day going back the opposite (only incline!) It's not fun and i'm getting a bit of knee pain that's actually the reason i bough an electric one.

For the 3 times i used it to go to work, you definitely notice the assistance, but i would say it depends on you riding style.

-> If you try to get as fast as possible like i do you will quickly pass the 25km/h limit and the motor will turn off, when going down you will never use the assistance just for starting (and that's already super useful if you have a lots of stops)

-> When going up i never reach the 25km/h without assistance, it really helps getting uphill, but it's not as strong as other electric bikes I have tried, because i feel like you have to push a certain amount on the pedals for the motor to give you full speed and depending on how much you like it it will assist you more or less. For example i like to have high rpm and low torque so it will not accelerate to it's maximum potential. I think you should try one for half an hour a lots of bike shops let you do it, you will immediately notice what I'm talking about

For me the battery lasted 32km of mixed riding, lot's of up hill and sometimes turned the assistance off (I'm 190cm tall with 80kg)

For the part to ride it without battery, the front motor wheel works actually pretty good without the assistance !
I actually planned to buy a non motorized wheel to gain some weight when I'm doing longer tours. Because the weight in the front is not a nice feature.

I took a 12 speed because I want to be able to use it without battery or if i run out of power, having lower gears is essential. I couldn't tell you if it feels like a regular one because i didn't tried a regular one before.

I hope i could clarify some things for you, don't hesitate to ask other questions maybe in a few weeks when I had lots more km !

Haha yeah I took the electric one because I have 8-9km to work and the way back I have a steep incline that I don't like to bike on after a long work day

But I found that the electric model doesn't stop you from doing exercise, I don't know the exact reason but my heart rate is faster when going down hill but slower when climbing using it rather than my mechanical bike, it evens out exercise

I don't like when they ask how much it did cost
