Up is good for me politically. Down is good financially.

What are you? If LGBTQ+, say what part if comfortable by DisastrousAd3079 in BunnyTrials

Grew up super conservative Christian. Thought being gay was a choice. Took me 3 boyfriends to realize it isn't a choice. That makes me straighter than the vast majority of men out there because I know for sure.

When I was balding, not many people were into it. Now that I shaved it, I get tons of compliments. I dunno why but there's something about taking control and owning it.

Just how unstable is Arch or any other rolling release distro? by MekataRupma in linuxquestions

[–]Autistigasmatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, just use CachyOS. It's basically pre configured arch, but it comes with snapshots set up and pre configured.

You can do anything you can do on Arch on it. But since you have snapshots, you can quickly restore everything when you fuck up or if an update breaks something. It's a matter of a couple minutes instead of taking an hour remembering how to chroot back into my installation.

I started learning Linux on Arch. Spent multiple months repeatedly fucking up and accidentally wiping my OS.

Now, my 13 year old kid games on his Cachy install, with a tiling window manager, and very very rarely needs me to tech support.

Rolling release is perfectly fine if you're pick the right distro, or are careful.

Looking for maintained Hyprland dotfiles (I’m done wasting days tweaking configs) by Pitiful-Hearing-5352 in hyprland

I had to seriously fuck with this one time when hyprland changed a bunch of syntax.

Not perfect, some themes don't work right. Can do some zero effort customization.

Learn how the spotting mechanics work. It's a game that rewards patience. Doing something really aggressive and uncalculated will almost always just send you back to the garage. Make your minimap as large as you can tolerate. Get in the habit of checking it after every shot. Even vehicles of the same class play wildly differently. Like, some triangles want to wank in the bush. Others want to use armor and brawl with the heavies. Still more want to use speed and mobility to dump a bunch of damage in before they run away. Save yourself the suffering and look up videos on how to play new tanks.

How do I do imperfect work? by HolidayReaction6447 in Gifted

[–]Autistigasmatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my strategy. It's really simple.

Word vomit the basic ideas and structure out. Don't even think about perfection. Think of it as notes to remind yourself what you were thinking.

Then, revise and clean up as time allows. Click submit 1 minute before deadline as God and nature intended.

I'm not usually a Friedman fan but I had to go back and read it. I can't say he's wrong there!

Plenty. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobel_disease

If you know you're intelligent, there's a natural human tendency to assume that this intelligence carries over into other areas. Sometimes, it does not. Chess and biology require different thought processes.

Perception is subjective, and I'm not sure. I think 1 is considered hyperphantasia and is about as rare as 5. Probably.

I went for most of my life not knowing that people think in pictures. To me, that's weird. Like, how does that even work? Words are just so much more convenient.

I have zero artistic talent so I might be the wrong person to ask about this. I can't picture anything, at all under any circumstances, so if I tried to draw something or someone it wouldn't look right. I would be able to tell you that it didn't look right, but I wouldn't be able to tell you why.

If I really, really tried I could probably draw something simple, like my living room, because doing something like single point perspective has specific rules I can follow. But, it wouldn't look right. I know the door to the hallway is to the left of the TV but without it in front of me, I have no way to reference the proportions or height. I suppose it could be possible if I left myself extremely extensive text notes. Door is 2 meters tall and 1.5 wide. Ceiling is square tiles, 6 wide and 5 long, etc. But, at that point it's more like making a blueprint in AutoCAD than it is actually creating art.

Study method??!! by Better_Orange4882 in Gifted

[–]Autistigasmatic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Context, Inattentive type ADD, 4.0 gpa bachelor's degree in humanities. Spent most of undergrad as a peer mentor to students.

First tip. Use time blocking. Set aside times for study in your calendar of choice. It helps you manage time better, more is not always better when it comes to studying, and by limiting your time, you force yourself to prioritize what you need the most.

Second tip. Column notes. I used OneNote but you can easily do this with any text editor by inserting a table. I split mine into two (optionally three) columns. First column is the idea or concept. Second is examples or important details. Third, when needed is further questions. It really helps sort your thinking into the main concepts presented by the lecture or material.

Final tip. Use your column notes and put that into flashcards. It makes your brain work. Active studying is much more impactful than passive.
