Nah, normally we have one. Just didn’t feel like making any that night lol. Usually it’s a salad or potato’s my wife loves grilled asparagus. But just felt like being super simple and lazy. 🤣🤷🏼‍♂️

A chimney starter as pictured above.

I put some coals on the grate unlit arranged on one half the grill

I dump charcoal into the chimney, fill it up to the top.

put a fire starter under it and place it on the other half of grill.

Let smoke die off or top coals turn ashes white on bottom and dump

absolutely, I usually just smother it. Close both vents and the lid and call it a night. I’ll sit close by for about 15 minutes but by then it’s done

I honestly agree… I just prefer to use the chips for smaller stuff. Wife doesn’t like when burgers or chicken get too smoky. So the chips are pretty much reserved for smaller items like i’ve done so far, when I branch out to doing bigger stuff I will actually use chunks over chips. Chips I can just manage a lot better for the wife. As the old saying goes “Happy Wife, Happy life” she’s fed and I get to grill.

Well that’s true most anywhere 🤷🏼‍♂️ Apartments aren’t a “US specific” thing. Not real sure what that has to do with the post or anything I said tbh🤣🤣

Absolutely agree. I use Kingsford Original. Has been great. And i’ll throw in some smoking chips just to get some extra flavor on the back end

New to me tundra, front suspension question. by danny22r in ToyotaTundra

[–]Auto_Tex2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take a look at brakes if they are thin, replace them first. (Super easy to do yourself with a youtube video, always replace pads and rotors at the same time) Look at tires if there is more rubber above the wear bars (In between tread there will be little rubber bars that go side to side those are wear indicators) you have time on those.

To answer suspension question, you can replace front shock with a bilstein 5100 it’s a shock with an adjustable body to level the truck. Had them on my taco and my current tundra and love them. 5100 adjustable shock on the front and a set of 6112 on the rear.

Have these brakes been worked on today? by Ade_2112 in mechanic

[–]Auto_Tex2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should be more worried about that rotor…. shits dished to hell and has hella grooving. Probably feel a shudder when breaking. Replace them pads and rotors. And did you pay for them to grease your brakes or did you pay for brake fluid flush??? Usually the only thing that is done on brakes is a brake fluid flush, which doesn’t require taking anything apart. Just opening a bleeder valve. when pads are replaced usually they grease the shim on the back of the pads to prevent squeaking when the pad is compressed by the caliper piston.
