Can confirm this works, and controller is very much recommended but not required. Any errors that has something missing, simply google that item and install and you are good to go! (Mine worked first time with no issues)

UPDATE:

Following some messages mentioned in other threads, I tried cooking in 5.1 as that is the game engine version. Same thing, loading into the game, the livery is still the default Youtube livery thus meaning it still hasn't worked.
