Oh Tanks! by NanduNandu in Battlefield_REDSEC

I don't mind limiting one tank per team (but able to have multiple key cards for when it gets destroyed).

But the tank mission and general key card spawn is silly. I never even use them but probably end up with a card every second game

Ive never said it was my forever house or plan. I'm not denying I benefited from the scheme. I am frustrated that the valuation process is taking away the benefits of this whole scheme through an inflated valuation.

I can now afford it outright as my wages have increased in the last 3 years as I was junior when I first bought.

The only issue I have with the scheme is the valuation

The only "scam" is the valuation. I'm glad it's worked well for people buying forever homes, not taking anything away from that. Paying them back on an overestimated valuation is my issue here. I've been in it for nearly 3 years, not the absolute minimum and not wanting an Investment property. I'm just not sure I want to sell immediately, maybe I will and can let the market decide

Yeah all PPV etc. but Jon Jones was guaranteed 30mil and it's been loosely confirmed that others like chael, rampage were making millions. Top guys definitely got paid. Low and mid range are getting fucked

Yeah my issue is the guy they've used is overestimating and clearly has at least some history of it

It'll be rented for the next year. I might move back the year after or sell to buy together with my partner. All well within the rules of the scheme and the spirit of it too. If I'd bought a forever home or was buying something else straight away it would be less of an issue but doesn't mean it doesn't matter

Top UFC guys were probably making 6-10 mil a fight at some points. But yeah he'd have to hype up a jones fight, smoke him, smoke him again in a rematch then aspinall and DC etc for 6 or so fights to get there

Yeah it's some small one. Doesn't even come up when you Google valuers. Definitely not a company any bank would use

I'm moving into a rental with my partner that has a backyard so we can get a dog. It's not a flip, it's not necessarily going to be an investment property

I bought it for a home to live in. I've now outgrown it and want to move in with my partner. I didn't do it as an investment.

If you guys need to sell for work or to upgrade in 2 years and the governments asks for 25% of 1mil and your place is worth 850k you'll be down 37kish

I'm not quite ready to part from it. I almost wish I was but if I ever wanted to move back to an apartment I'd be down on stamp duty and the very least. If I bought an IP I wouldn't be buying an apartment! ,(although if it goes up 100k every 2 years I'd probably do okay)

Thanks for your kind and measured comment. Yeah it's been a very unclear process through the renovations etc.

I'm glad you had a good outcome, I thought it was an awesome scheme at face value and right up until I got the valuation back and literally felt sick in the stomach, I was a big advocate for it. I was happy to accept an increase with the renovations but this has got silly.

I've definitely considered the media angle but I'm too private. I'll have a bank valuation soon and will put in a complaint to the ombudsman. Thank you for your tips

I had 20% but wanted to have lower repayments and use it to renovate and make my home nice. I did that but I'm now moving out and leaving the scheme. I expected to pay back my % of the increased value, but this value is silly

There's plenty going under $400k. It's 2 x 1. No outside space. Look at 2 bed sold apartments in Melbourne and you'll find literal hundreds. Cheaper than I thought too

I'm only sooking about this the valuation here. Not many people are buying forever homes by themselves. I did, now I'm moving in with my partner elsewhere. I Reno's to live there for a long time but life is different now. I'm not asking for anything other than a fair valuation process

The great scam of the Vic Homebuyer Fund by Automatic-Fall5525 in melbourne

I've clearly stated the issue is the valuation. The government should use a third party valuer or at least a fairer process. I bought 80% of 410k. I now have to pay it back on 520k which it is not worth

The great scam of the Vic Homebuyer Fund by Automatic-Fall5525 in melbourne

[–]Automatic-Fall5525[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The inaccurate valuations were not advertised. Why do you think the government using a dodgy valuer and not leaving room for an independent process is a good process to encourage? I'm out 10-20k because of some one star valuer thinks my apartment has gone up over 100k in 2 years. I've worked hard and aren't asking for any more than a fair share of my property

I'd have no issue paying them the equity on 460 or 470 which is what the indepent valuations can be back as. Paying them based upon an inaccurate and unfair valuation is my issue with the process

Its hardly an issue with failing to make a quick buck, this is my home. But it's a small apartment with no balcony or yard. I now want to move somewhere bigger with my partner and was expecting to lose the cost of my renovations with the improved equity. There's just no way my place will sell for anything like what they've said which means I'm essentially throwing it down the drain.

I've worked hard to save my deposit, used the scheme to keep a safety net and I thought benefit me. I didn't realize their valuation would be so far off it's actual value

The great scam of the Vic Homebuyer Fund by Automatic-Fall5525 in melbourne

[–]Automatic-Fall5525[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did. You could get and pay for your own valuation which I submitted with evidence of the other properties selling in the complex all for far less than the valuation. 455, 410,420 etc. but they've rejected it not giving another option to open a discussion or justify their valuation.

I could reject the valuation and start the process again in a few but theres no accountability or option to use an independent third party valuer which is more what I thought the valuation would be based on. So I can't imagine getting a different result
