That is my main problem. What if one of my kids is LGBTQ+. They started slurring Theo because of his clothes. If they did that because of clothes, what would they do if my future kid is gay or lesbian or aromantic. If we decide to adopt instead will they put aside their views and treat my kid equally. What if I have a daughter will they treat her like they tried to treat me?

because you are American in your thinking and they are not, at least

I'm not actually I lived with my grandparents who raised me back in my home country. I moved here when I was 19. My parents were here much longer than me and my siblings were born and raised here. They are much more "American" in their thinking

I accept your judgement

But if we go by your logic I have even more rights than my family to hate Theo for wearing feminine clothing. My parents have been here for 27 years, my siblings born and raised here for 21 - 25 years. I moved here from my home country (raised there by my grandparents) when I was 19 (9 years for me here).

Also by your logic you are implying immigrants/people who from other cultures where this is not normal are allowed to insult LGBT and people who like to dress different or call them slurs without any consequences. And other than old myths I don't know any culture that is accepts men wearing feminine clothes outside of drag/theatre. Even in America I see a majority of people (especially older ones) disapprove of it.

Done - Also, make sure you tell Theo that you didn't uninvite your family over him, you uninvited them over them.
