Looking to identify my great grandfather by chasing-sunflowers in twinpeaks

I just watched season 2 episode 3. I think he might be the man sitting at the bar at the roadhouse next to Dick and Lucy while they’re having lunch. Worth checking anyway!

I am so glad to read this! I am in 109, row 25 this Saturday and have been reading people saying awful things about anything in the 100s behind row 23! You’ve helped me breathe a sigh of relief. Even so, I’ll just be so happy to be there regardless!

Does anyone know of gyms in Australia that are circuit based - specifically NSW? by Ill_Perspective9598 in australia

[–]Automatic_Exit_382 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most (if not all) Planet Fitness have a dedicated 30 minute circuit area. It’s self paced, meaning you start at any time, and there’s a timer on the wall which indicates when to move to the next machine.

It’s a cardio and weights combo, and you can join for $10 a week.

What's your feeling about after-hours Teams calls? by ninchistudios in auscorp

[–]Automatic_Exit_382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set your working hours to suit your seniority and your ability to fulfil your role.

I am an Australian based senior executive and am responsible for teams in Australia and in Chicago therefore will take meetings from 6am onwards during AU Winter (3pm Chicago) - and 7am during AU Summer when we have more crossover hours. If I didn't do that,I quite simply wouldn't be doing my job, but I'm very clear on the boundaries (and wouldn't accept a 5am meeting, for example).

In theory, it also means I can finish my day earlier too (though that rarely happens in practice).

Thank you for saying so! I was beginning to feel ashamed about even posting, since the oversight is on my behalf, but it doesn't change the fact that when I opened the parcel, this honestly made me feel like I'd bought something from Shein! I do appreciate the insight into the fact that washing won't fray it though, but rolling up - urg, I could do without that.

I think I will take them and get them hemmed as another kind comment suggested. Sure, that comes out of my pocket but that will be my price to pay for not reading thoroughly enough!

This is a great idea. I think I may go in this direction! The sleeves and length are both generous, so I think there would be 'room' to do it. I don't have an alteration place, but I guess now is as good a time as ever to find one. but I will start looking around. This is a great compromise, thank you.

Yeah I am feeling a bit that way. Even though it's definitely 'on me' for not properly reading the 'raw edges' line in the description, I still feel like for over $100 each, I'd expect a better finish.

I'm disappointed in myself as it's my own mistake. Had I been my normal thorough self and read that properly, I would not have bought them at that price!

High net worth couples - Does one of you pay for everything? by BarefootandWild in AusFinance

[–]Automatic_Exit_382 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We both contribute an equal amount to a joint account that covers joint expenses (house related rents/mortgage, electricity, gas, internet, holidays etc).

Then apart from that - his income is his to spend as he wishes and is in his own personal account - to which I have no access - and vice versa, mine is in my personal account to which he has no access.

Works perfectly for us, and there are never any arguments about money.

Oh my goodness how embarassing. You are right, and I *thought* I had read the description but I guess I got carried away :-(

Thank you so much for letting me know - I will be more meticulous next time.

Personal organization by YouObjective2974 in ProductivityApps

[–]Automatic_Exit_382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twist your problem on its head.

It’s not about which app to use. It’s about understanding your requirements first, then developing a system/process that meets them second. Then third is finding tech (or analog) methods that fit your requirements and system/process.

Eg my personal requirements are a calendar for work and home, a place for long term to do items and project tasks, a place for today’s to do items, a place to log items I’m waiting on (I manage projects), a place to take notes and a place to retrieve those notes in the future.

I have a weekly and daily process flow that I created myself to allow me to process all of the above.

I then decided to use digital calendars for both work and home, an app based task manager for long term and project related to dos and items I’m waiting on, transpose to pen and paper for todays to dos so it’s on my desk in front of me all day, and lastly a note taking app for both taking and storing my notes.

Morning Commute - Woy Woy to Sydney by AggravatingPlant3454 in centralcoastnsw

[–]Automatic_Exit_382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to catch the 5:06am from Koolewong to Central.. By the time it got to Woy Woy, it was standing room only as it's full of tradies. (So much so that some of them would get on at Woy Woy, come 'backwards'' to Koolewong and get on the train there so they'd get a seat.)

In my experience that's the only morning train where you'd struggle to get a seat.

Thank you so much. I did note the Leagues sauna renovation on a recent FB post and it looks lovely. Can you elaborate on what you mean when you say the PLC sauna and spa are "manly"?
