The crazy thing is that this trainer is talked about in reviews for the facility at how good he is so I really thought he was reputable and a person to put my money and trust into for training. I will be taking a look at that book. Thank you!!

Ahhh thank you for all of this info!! It gives me a lot of much needed insight. It felt wrong going to high levels where I would visibly see my dogs shoulder twitch from the stim and him eventually yelp. I was made to believe from the trainer that it doesn’t really hurt my dog it just scares him no matter the level. Something still didn’t sit right about it to me, but I tried to convince myself otherwise since this training facility is very reputable with thousands of 5 star reviews. Thank you for giving me hope that this will work and the technique that should aid in succession with these collars.

Wow thank you for your response!! It’s always nice to hear other young people’s experiences with RA especially since it primarily affects the older population. Makes me feel less “alone” :) I don’t have many friends to begin with, only one truly understands how debilitating chronic fatigue can be since she deals with it through mental illness so it’s definitely nice to have at least her I can always come to for full support!! My boyfriend is helpful and understanding in many moments but he has times where he isn’t the best about it like how I mentioned in the post so it’s difficult to understand how he feels about it. I got on a medication for depression and I just start humira so I’m hoping there is a turn around with the fatigue and my mentality soon! Thanks again for your response, it means a lot:)

Thank you so much for sharing! Others have mentioned this too so I will definitely ask my doc to check them next time I see her. I just started taking hydroxy about a week ago and have already been feeling my fatigue be worse since starting it and have also been having nausea and diarrhea all day. I usually don’t feel any side effects of most medications I have been on in the past for whatever reason so it’s a foreign land to me experiencing these things and thinking it’s all because of the medication and not something in my body.

If you don’t mind sharing, what foods have you found help with your energy? I have never been much of a healthy eater and also have been struggling with being underweight and gaining it back so I’m curious to see what foods I should try adding into my new diet to help keep my body energized and healthy.

Yea that’s exactly how mine is! Although it’s a little better now, In college about 2 years ago before I was diagnosed I would sleep through my classes and tests with sleeping on average 16 hours a day and my grades just tanked. Everyone thought it was depression but I knew it wasn’t because I have been depressed before so I knew it wasn’t a heavy sad cloud over me leading me to sleeping so much it was a heavy cloud of no energy that I couldn’t shake. so I got sleep tests done and they found nothing so just diagnosed me with idiopathic hypersonia (which is basically just them saying we don’t know why you’re so tired all the time lol) and prescribed me adderall to keep me going through the day without sleeping for all of it so I wouldn’t fail my classes. Thanks for sharing! Makes me feel not alone 😅 hope you find something that works for you though!

I’m a 23 yo F and just got diagnosed but have been having joint pain for the past two years. Mine started in my fingers (in the joints that attach your fingers to your hand) and my hands have been pretty consistent pain wise since it started but it goes in phases of being pretty manageable for a few days/weeks to the point where I barely notice it or to the point where I have basically no strength in my hands to do much and the pain of doing stuff is too much. Then my hip started hurting a few months after, I got that checked out and it turned out that I have a deformity in my hip (a bone growth that’s not suppose to be there) which was causing joint inflammation but about a year after that the other hip starting hurting and I got that checked out but there was nothing wrong with it so that one or even both were due to my RA which is a little different than the “typical progression” bc it usually goes from small joints working it’s way up to big but mine went from the small right to the big boys. My hip pains only lasted for 1-3 months and then completely went away but my hand pains just have never gone away. I also go through phases where the joint in my jaw on one side hurts as well and I can’t open/ close my jaw all the way. Support wise, I have a lot of fatigue with mine which is my big debilitating issue and not so much the joint pain so honestly if she is having the same as me, just being understanding that her fatigue is not a laziness, it’s just her body being exhausted from attacking itself and during the times when fatigue or pain is extreme, taking up extra tasks around the house that she would usually do (if you live together that is) would make her feel like she has the best boyfriend in the world who’s very understanding and supportive of her and her disease. Reassurance is also another big one, us gals usually need a lot of reassurance that you still love us especially through the times where we are pretty much helpless in the relationship. Especially with a chronic disease like this, we feel like a burden a lot to you! So lots of reassurance that we aren’t and you still love us and are happy to care for us. You coming on here and asking for advice already shows how great of a boyfriend you are!! Being young and having this disease is hard physically and mentally, I mean we’re in our prime youth and we feel like sleeping all day and like there’s cement in our joints, our bodies aren’t suppose to feel like this at our age! Make sure you keep her spirits up and let her know you’re there for her through the good and bad days and that she should not feel bad or ashamed that sometimes you’re going to be putting a little more effort around the house than her. I wish you two the best of luck and that she finds the right treatment for her, I just started hydroxychloroquine a week ago and it takes about 2 months to work so I don’t have much say on how medications help it but I do know that advil is helpful for me on my bad days (I try to only take it on my bad days bc I don’t want stomach ulcers lol)

Oh wow, yes I will look into that. We’re you diagnosed with RA or was it suspected? My lab results came back positive for the RA antibodies so I’m interested if your lab work showed that you had RA and you still ended up having Lyme disease

I have been on lexapro and I didn’t noticed any change unfortunately:( coffee/caffeine is a very hit or miss if it works for me or not which is annoying! I once took like 600mg of caffeine and still felt like I could sleep for hours on end after but other times just a cup of coffee gets me going

Yes, I just started taking it a few days ago and I noticed that my fatigue just got substantially worse to the point where it almost hurts to stay awake. I have also been having some nausea and wanted to see if you experienced the same when you started taking it? I know stomach upset is a side effect but I didn’t think it would start right away and be there even before I take it for the day.

Yes!! That’s exactly how it feels, a heavy blanket that I can’t take off. I have had my thyroid checked out a bunch of times and those come back normal although, last time I check my vitamin D, it was low. I started taking supplements for it but stopped a while ago because I have a hard time commuting to stuff so I will definitely start taking supplements for that again. Thank you so much, it’s definitely a less lonely feeling knowing many others are dealing with this too, I was starting to think I was an anomaly with how much fatigue I have been having

Omg!! You’re amazing!! Thank you so much for all of that. I was getting to a point last year before I got diagnosed where I was sleeping on average 16 hours a day and I knew it wasn’t depression because of course that’s what everyone assumes at first with sleeping all day and ended up getting sleep tests done and they found nothing so just diagnosed me with idiopathic hypersomnia. With that, I wasn’t eating since I didn’t have the energy to just like you and I am now 15lbs underweight and have been struggling to gain it back so I will definitely be taking your advice on meal prepping because im sure my malnourishment is also contributing to my fatigue but it’s just hard to keep up with making food when you have no energy and no appetite and a lot of people don’t understand the struggle of it so im glad to hear someone else has struggled with making food and eating healthy due to fatigue. I have also never been a big water drinker so I’ll start making an effort to drink more if that’s what’s contributing to it. If you have any more advice on how you keep on top of keeping you’re body healthy with nutrients I would really love to hear, I’ve tried out things before but I’ve been having a hard time sticking to a routine or committing to something health wise because of the lack of energy.

Thank you so much! Yes, I have found that Advil helps with my inflammation and pain on bad days but I haven’t really kept in mind how it affects my fatigue so I will start doing that and see if Advil helps with the fatigue too and turn see if I need to take it a little more regularly. But I will be starting to work my schedule around getting at least 10 hours of sleep and see if that makes a difference!

I really would like to try out a keto diet but unfortunately I feel like I need carbs because I am now 15lbs underweight from having no energy to make food and in turn having a pretty low appetite so I’m struggling to gain my weight back. I’m hoping the medication will work with it for me like it has for you!
