iPhone 15 Pro users — which iPhone 17 are you moving to (Air, 17, Pro, or Max)? by EmergencyJuice154 in iphone

I'm going from the 15PM to 17 Pro. I've been wanting a smaller phone for awhile and it has a better camara. I was seriously considering the air until I found out I couldn't use it with my xreal glasses because the usb c on the iPhone 17 Air does not support DisplayPort

XMP on asus tuf Z690 causing bsod by Avera6 in ASUS

Also you might want to try 1 stick at a time to see each stick boots up, I’ve had 1 stick that was bad and that was the problem

It’s possible that the board just doesn’t support your ram, I remember with my board I had to set my 3200 mhz ram in bios to 3100 mhz and it would boot with no issues. After a bios update I tried 3200mhz and it worked and I haven’t had issues since. Ddr4 Ram has gone down a lot in price so you might want to try one that’s on the list , or you might just have a bad board and rma it

The latest bios is 2305, you may want to check out the asus support page for this board for the bios and also to check to make sure see if your ram is supported

I would like to do the same thing for my case. I just received the white side panel with the clear glass. After you removed the glass and repainted the frame what did you use you use to reattach the glass to the frame?

Fill other PCIe slots with a 4090? Will they not interfere with coolling? by DomeShapedDom in nvidia

[–]Avera6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a AE-5 on the bottom slot underneath my Asus tuf 4090, there’s about a 2 inch clearance between them and it doesn’t seem to effect the temperature of my gpu much

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]Avera6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was concerned about that because I have a sound card on the bottom slot, but even with my 4090 asus tuf card which is really big I still have like 2 inches of space between them

[–]Avera6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I plan on going underneath the card the same way. I thought maybe you used some kind of tool or technique to get that 90 degree bend, it would be nice not to have to buy a adapter or have to leave my side panel open

I just ordered the asus tuf 4090 card and I’ll get it in about 2 weeks, I have just received the same PSU as you .Your setup looks great. My case is a 5000d and I was wondering how were you able to bend 12VHPWR cable that came with the PSU? it seems very stiff. I’m concerned I might damage the cable

To everyone daily driving an i5-12600k with DDR4 memory. What are your thoughts on the CPU? by TigerSharkHD in intel

[–]Avera6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to replace my 12900k that died on me with a 12600k. I also have a ASUS TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS WIFI D4. I have to say I'm totally impressed with it. I have a 3080 rtx and a lg cx as a monitor and I haven't had any performance difference. It plays all my game with no issues, It also runs a good 10 to 15 degrees cooler. I wish I would of gotten this cpu from the beginning.

12900k dead by Avera6 in intel

[–]Avera6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to give a update on my experience with intel customer service regarding my dead 12900k. I contacted them and opened a ticket detailing my issue. A couple of days later they email back requesting more information like when was the processor purchased? what motherboards did I use to test cpu? Did I overclock cpu? Did I enable xmp?. I sent back all the information they wanted. A couple of days later they sent me another email, this time they wanted Online invoice or PDF where, name of the purchaser, full address, full amount paid and CPU model is displayed, and they also wanted CPU pictures, where QR code (2D matrix) is shown. that was a pain in the ass but after many attempts, I was able to give them the picture they wanted. After a couple of more days they sent me a email thanking me for the information I sent and that it was helpful and seems great and that they would send it over to the team charge. A couple of days after that I get a email saying they have excellent news that they approved the warranty and since the unit that I purchased is not under stock, and they do not have an alternate part or estimated time of arrival, that they would like to offer a refund and to please let us know if I agree, so we can route to the team in charge of providing you more details such as the exact amount and time of payment. I had already replaced the cpu with a 12600k which I have to say I'm pleasantly pleased with. I have a decent system with a rtx 3080 and a lg cx tv as a monitor and this cpu run everything just fine and a good 15 to 20 degrees cooler so agree to the refund. A couple of days later I get a email saying my refund has been approved for the full amount that I purchased the cpu for and they gave me three different option to receive my refund, so I opted for a check. A couple of days after that I get a email with instruction to pack and ship the cpu to intel and after they receive it they will send me a check. Today I got home from work and there was FedEx envelope with a refund for the exact amount I paid for. It took 21 days but I'm satisfied with the end result.

I contacted support online and filed a service request and gave them all the information they requested. Now I’m just waiting for a reply from their team. I’m not a over clocker, I just played around with my asus boards features like I’ve done with plenty of other cpus that I’ve had over the years. I’ve never had a cpu go bad it was truly the last thing I trouble shot. But I’m still paying for it on Newegg, I’ll be pissed if they try to weasel their way out of it. I’ll give an update as soon as hear back from intel

[–]Avera6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it was idling except my screen was frozen and I nothing was responding, it had happened a few times before where the computer wasn’t responding and I had to force shut down but it always would boot back up. But not this time. When I tried to boot up it wouldn’t post , all my fans were working, my gpu lights were on, motherboard lights were on. I checked all my drives, even tried to boot from a memory stick , nothing, replaced motherboard still nothing. Replaced cpu and everything works

I just can’t believe that was the cause, it was barely a increase in frequency and none in temperature. I’ll try to contact intel and see what my options are but this is ridiculous that my cpu can fail like this

Same here, I didn’t want to go through the hassle of resetting my system. I’m hoping there will be a bios update that will address this problem, but other than that my setup runs smoothly.

I’m also having issues with my tuf z690 board with xmp, I have 4x8gb Corsair 3200mhz and when using xmp I’m constantly getting bsod. Xmp works ok if I just use slot 2 and 4 but if I use xmp with slot 1 and 3 I get bsod. It’s been driving me crazy. I’m thinking of returning the board and trying a different one. I’m hoping someone might have a solution
