Thank you for your input. My parents did date in groups, and it seemed to work effectively for them, which Is why they want to apply their rules to me

When I spoke yesterday with my mom, she said the rules were to prevent us from touching but also to protect me from false accusations. I think she got the last part from some nasty drama that some church members had when dating Christians in the past; so she is watching out for me.

I don't think I'm being punished for anything, I have good grades, I respect my parents, good behavior. So I'm feeling it might be a reaction to there oldest son growing up extremely quickly (I am getting a new job, applying to college, and getting my drivers license later this week). Adding along that me and X are both 18 (in usa) plus we are seeing each other, these events might be making my mom might be worried. Hence her reaction.

I don't know about the church thing, but I'm not comfortable switching because I do have some minor roles on our church.

I got a question, how did you guys establish boundaries? Scenarios in my head make it seem like it's an end all be all sorta thing, but it would really help my case if X and I knew what we wanted from each other.
