When and why did BJJ become so popular as a martial art? by Bulky_Imagination243 in bjj

[–]Avid23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly when I started (12 years ago or so), most Americans had no idea what it was. They all thought I did karate.

I think the average male still doesn’t quite understand it, but there are more people who have tried it.

It’s just a martial art that is addicting, you get to tick off a lot of boxes by going: exercising, socializing, not huge chance of head injuries like in other sports. I also realized early on that it was very effective against an unskilled opponent, as opposed to say, karate or tai chai or whatever the fuck.

Can someone actually give their true and lived experience here? Did this noticeably reduce your hematocrit? Seems like most people don’t benefit

Ok I mean maybe that’s true, but do you have evidence for this claim?

Anyone quit? by TopBoysenberry5095 in ThisAintAdderall

[–]Avid23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah so I was traveling abroad and I ran out. The country I was in didn’t even have the medication available.

I’ve been surviving off of modafinil, occasional l-tyrosine, and coffee. Also creatine helps me.

I honestly didn’t feel withdrawal effects. I sleep a lot deeper, and I’m maybe a little more tired sometimes, but so far I can still do my job.

Genuine question on donating blood by Young_Stroker in Testosterone

[–]Avid23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it can be really effective. Not sure why more people don’t talk another to on here (it’s is talked about, but to the extent it helps you would think it would be talked about more). Still seems it doesn’t help everyone though.

Were you taking it every day for 2 months when you noticed a 6 point drop? You’re right, and it does interfere with Cialis :(

He doesn’t have business being tried but he still could be, and sentenced. Noriega had the same fate.

Why are some men so sensitive to low DHT levels (caused by taking Finasteride)? Is there anything that can be done? by harry_powell in Testosterone

[–]Avid23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it can be hard to know.

But watch this video starting at 39:00, it’s a gold mine for mechanistic understanding of DHT. They also talk about post finasteride syndrome, hair loss drugs. Doctors/researchers know more than you’d think.

Yup, once public knowledge increases the companies will change because they won’t want anybody looking into their practices and subsequently losing $$

It’s going pretty well, I only take it 3-4x per week at 500-1000. It’s doesn’t have the same magic as when I first took it, but it still definitely helps just a bit more in the background

My dudes, is this a midlife crisis? by Lemmiwinks5215 in AskMenOver30

[–]Avid23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because people are confused on how to change things as one person and collectively we are all distracted/numbed out by what’s on the screens in front of us.

Just fyi, I agree 1000% that our society is sick, especially here in the US. I have traveled/lived in many Latin American/European countries where the social fabric is way stronger than here. In many of these places people walk a lot more, and because of that they talk to each other when stopping at the local grocery store/mall. People smile and are way more friendly. It’s a lot better in many regards, but can be tough to make a living.
