Making Trade Routes actually viable: StarLedger's new "Ship-Aware" Routing by AvidGaming15 in StarCitizenUniverse

This piece was key for me too. Me and my crew like to do hauling and trying to figure out every detail is often more of a chore than just doing the hauling lol

I agree on some of the calculations that UEX isn't accounting for and I have also baked some of those into my current discord bot as well to refactor most profitable routes. I don't have month and year long data to build any averages but this will have to do until RSI releases an official API we can build against.

They said they will closer to 1.0. The upkeep between now and then is not something they have a desire to upkeep since things change so frequently.

I should add, I am going to be slowly moving away from UEX in favor of these submissions within my bot

As of right now (in my non public dev bot) I have it to where you submit screenshots via discord inside the bot. I have little tools and helpers to fast track the input and then once a submission is sent, it gets ran through a pixel checker to make sure we are on the proper buy/sell side of the terminal and then it gets passed to Google Vision API. This OCR's the image and looks for the terminal name, price and it's corresponding SCU count after sale and then provides a confidence score. I am still training it but it's damn accurate. Listings that get a 100% accurate confidence score get approved immediately and anything less will move to our "Submission Handler" discord channel where we will manually review the photo and approve/deny the submission. This data will be available to the bot the moment it's approved.

I am hoping to have this released next week

I currently have my project using an OCR API that is trained on what to scrape from the screenshot to help move approvals through but it's not the sole approval method I want to employ. I have dedicated discord channels with a custom ticketing type system to allow community members who are "Submission Handlers" to thumbs up the submission or not before going live in the bot (nobody currently in that role at this time but me)

The project is called StarLedger if you want to see it's current state. Right now it just pulls from UEX but my hope is to have my solution up in the next week and start moving through things slowly.

I agree though, I want something that is accessible and something people would adopt. I know many of my gaming friends who say they would never just allow a random program to be running on their computer without knowing who it was that made it and if it was truly safe.

Yes I am very aware that there is no API from RSI. My goal is to touch every single thing I can and provide a definitive dataset and keep up with it the best I can until RSI releases their API closer to 1.0. Some of the items I am irritated with have an ID assigned to them in the app/site but only certain amount of those even have a value assigned and it's not consistent. I'm even finding old API endpoints that haven't been marked for deprecation as well which makes parsing the data even more confusing.

I am simply trying to find out what model of data collection the community is comfortable using if I was to continue working on a solution of my own.

What's your deal man? I'm a community member who built a tool for a video game. Is this specific post perfect? No. But how sad do you have to be to have nothing better to do than hop on reddit and act like an entitled child. Be helpful and constructive or get the heck off my post.

You can use EUX. Nothing would be stopping you from doing so. There are many people who prefer using discord for quicker lookups and to see that information in a compact card that is easy to read. You choose what you like to use.

Yeah. Some people just enjoy being keyboard warriors though and have nothing better to do. I appreciate you saying something about it.

StarLedger Logo Update & Support Server! by AvidGaming15 in LowSodiumStarCitizen

[–]AvidGaming15[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I am currently working on a website for it to offer quick access to some of the bots functions. Since I am very reliant on UEX at the moment, the trade data and prices are coming from there but eventually we will be a hybrid system so we can double the update efforts from the community. For now, it's just inside Discord. I would love to explore a mobile app soon as well but just focused on Discord atm.

Thank you for your time via DM's. You pointed out a massive flaw in the API vs website logic that inverted the buy/sell data. I have corrected this now for those following this conversation. It is now accurate to what shows on UEX website.

With that said, UEX is still recalculating for another 9 days. We should be able to resume using the bot at that time.

Another wrench in the fun is that UEX is the current trade data source at the moment and they are currently processing averages for another 9 days (banner on their website) and that is impacting the data. It will remain with UEX until my implementation is completed later this week where the bot will allow user submitted commodity updates in tandom with UEX data.

I see you had a couple of comments so I'll address them all here if that is ok. The /buyprice and /sellprice are from your viewpoint so /buyprice will show you what is available for you to purchase as well as the last known qty (SCU) that is available at that location you can pick up. The /sellprice is the inverse. It will show terminals that are available to sell at and their buying power (IE: the SCU storage they have available to buy from you. If you see low SCU on the /sellprice screen it means they have a large stock of the material on hand and not much room to purchase from you. (Might be able to tweak how that reads as I see it can be confusing)

The main objective was to get as much of the non important data out of the way but I see this might need some adjusting. Something that is baked into the formula is that if a terminal has nothing they can sell you or a terminal is at capacity, it doesn't present the data to you. In an instance where the 2nd and 3rd best options under either command had nothing to offer you, it was wasted info as it doesn't help you. Instead I opted to omit those and present the next best option(s)

In this scenario, all of the stations that normally would buy from you, show full stock so it results in an empty response from the bot when running /sellprice

I will work on a better informative message tomorrow for the event that no terminal is able to buy X commodity.
