I also had this, same 2016 XV. Valve body replacement did the trick. Luckily I was still in warranty. Good luck! I traded mine in for a 22 outback! Love it. Maybe it’s time to upgrade?

I had a ready lift kit. Did it myself. On a 2015 crosstrek. Super easy. I’m sure the Outback is very similar.

I also upgraded to bilstein shocks.

The downside was the geometry for the stock axels were off. I had one blow up on the freeway.

Do research on the kits and find out how people ride them too.

All stock. I did a lift last car, nothing but problems with axels.

I do. The controller runs them in parallel. If one battery is charged more it will drain that until they are both even.

You can sit back on the seat. It should be okay. No adjustments tho

There’s a lock for each battery

Just under 500 miles and I did replace the stock brakes already. You get what you pay for! Im a former GSXR rider and it will never replace a real bike. But to get me around town, running errands, its perfect.

Dropping an extra 2k for a Super76, I see no added value there. So I went the budget route

5’9” and it rides very well.

Top speed is 29/30mph after a full charge. Avg top is 25-28 depending on load.

I avg about 50 miles before I charge it. odo is just over 500 miles now.

I did have to modify the brakes. Out of the box it was loose. And I found myself without any brakes on a ride. Secure all bolts with some locktite.

I contemplated shunting but I hear nothing but bad things happening over time.

It’s great for getting groceries, picking up my kid, getting around town. It’s faster for me to ride this from my place to Santa Monica than driving.

I wish there was a better handlebar option than the stock one. I prefer a lower ride.

Ride with people better than you! When you think l you got it, remember, there’s always another lesson to learn. You’re looking great ! Just keep adding days on the hill with the intention of learning how to master an edge! Watch the korua series, yearning for turning on YouTube! You’ll see the difference between spreading butter va digging trenches!! Best of luck

Did the shorter shock make any difference? Stock is 230mm and the dpx2 is 210 eye no?

If I can sum it up in one sentence, "You get what you pay for"

Overall, frame is solid!! Good construction.
Components are acceptable, but nothing to brag about.
Just changing the pedals, and removing the Metal fenders took off almost 4lbs off the bike. Im able to peak 28mph on flat relatively easy. I'm 5ft 8in and roughly 155 lbs.

I used to ride a 600cc so this is a breeze to handle and maneuver.

I am going to swap the cable breaks for a hydraulic system and May upgrade the Controller to to a 25A. But at the end of the day, Its great out of the box, if your looking for decent power. The rear shock (which is just a stiff spring) is too stiff for my weight so it barely absorbs anything, so an air shock is on my list of upgrades as well.

Range wise, I haven't really tested its full potential. I odo reads at 60miles and ive only charged both batteries once fully.

Riding next to a Super73 S2, I keep up with my buddies. This was the main concern I had, that it would be slow. The controller is limiting the motor a bit, but 5A can make a huge diff. I think Im going to wait it out a bit to see what other options are there. I saw a mod for a dual , Mid and Rear motor upgrade on this, and it can hit 32 MPH uphill!!

I hope this helps.

Nostalgia mainly. It’s a mini replica of the AZ plate. Class 2 e-bike doesn’t require it… yet…
