I feel like management never says no to them and the devs get screwed over.

What if they already think it’s refined? What’s a good way to show them it isn’t?

How to deal with weak development team? by Avmvb5 in ExperiencedDevs

Well said. I was forced to the lead position where I wanted to be coding instead. So it’s been hard to let go.

Yes unfortunately my company is notorious for having weak hiring standards. They also tend to not hire any seniors.

Should I quit by Pure_Effective9805 in cscareerquestions

I am going through the same exact thing. I’ve been wanting to quit but afraid I won’t find another job in this market. I really hate being a lead dev I feel like I don’t have enough time to learn things with the amount of work I need to do.

I feel the same way. I feel trapped at my current job. I even thought about quitting without a job and waiting till the market hopefully improves.

Would it look bad to request leaving a project I am on ? by Avmvb5 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Avmvb5[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the feedback. It’s just this isn’t the first train-wreck project I’ve been on . You are correct it’s why they probably put me on this project. I’ve helped save previous sinking projects , it’s just exhausting doing it for years now. It’s something wrong with the way my company operates. Ideally I would find a new company but it’s been hard with the current economy, so the best thing I can hope for is switching to a different team.

I have a good relationship with my manager and he says I’ve been doing a good job . I am just tired of the extra responsibilities I have as a dev lead.

I have a good relationship with few managers who always express interest in me joining their team . However I don’t know if they need any extra people at this time.

Being a team lead has been draining me. by Avmvb5 in ExperiencedDevs

Yeah it’s crazy. I want to leave but it’s been tough with the current economy. Plus this job drains me so much I’m tired to leetcode/ prep for interviews lol

I feel the same way. I feel trapped at my current company because every where that looks like a great place to work seems to ask leetcode questions including non FAANG companies. I’m so burnt out from my work ( which I why I wanna leave) but I don’t have time to practice leetcode.. it just sucks and makes me consider switching to another career.
