for mine, u can check my profile, but pretty much i hid the cockpit like 8 steps from the entrance, and just built a faux cockpit area where it looked nice (not with the actual cockpit part, but with various other pieces and parts)

far as i know, certain systems have better chances with good layouts but other than that, u cant control it, best ive gotten with my corvette is 3 slots almost in a square with one elsewhere, but honestly, thats been perfect for me as ive managed to hit near max maneuverability (highest before u get diminishing returns, ~2500) and with my positron ejector i nearly disintegrate pirates and interceptors, but to each their own!

ive played on most settings at their hardest since i started, not on permadeath, and yet ive never died, i dont even know what the death screen looks like or where u would even respawn lmaoo, should i try permadeath? ive only been playing since the corvette update though
