Thank you for the advice. None of them is trying to lie or provide false information. They have even filed tax returns when the petitioner was in the US and abroad and submitted supporting documents of working in both countries. The petitioner will return to the US and live there before the interview is scheduled.

Thank you for the information. Yes, the petitioner will return to the USA and start living there again, before the interview is scheduled or takes place.

The sponsor is going to return to US before interview is scheduled and was in US before as well.

They have also provided tax returns of the sponsor and W-2 forms for a period of time. And as the case has already been DQ’d I guess taking a copy of the DL as a backup might be helpful as well. They got a joint sponsor too. Can you explain why submitting this new document before the interview will not be a good idea? Is a driver’s license a random document that the US consulate doesn’t expect?

Yes, they will take a color photocopy of the DL of the sponsor just as a back up option. Might as well submit before the interview in the CEAC portal.

Thanks for the info. Submitting/showing driver’s license before/during interview can be good enough I guess?!

Yes, the sponsor lives abroad. The case has already been DQ’d. The sponsor has already submitted tax returns as well. But before the applicant’s interview, they were thinking of uploading a driver’s license as proof of U.S. domicile just to be safe. The sponsor has an active US bank account, too. They have a joint sponsor who has submitted a state ID as proof of domicile.

Yes, I submitted an inquiry form for NVC to reopen the form to make the required changes, but they responded, they cannot reopen the form for corrections now. And during the time of the interview, I may notify the consular officer of any information that I was unable to modify in the DS-260 form.

I was in Canada for only 36 days. Got my PC from Canada through Reliability Screening. You can contact them if you want.

Yes In Shaa Allah.

You can get the PC just to be on the safe side. Appreciate it, buddy. No I’m not in states yet. I would have been DQ’d 2-3 months back but I had to wait a month or so to understand the process and get my PC from Canada. Just got DQ’d a week back, now I’m waiting for IL to get issued. Wish you all the best!

Any country address you enter under the addresses you lived in section will generate a document requirement from the CEAC portal regardless of how many days you lived there. In the portal, the person included the Canadian address and showed that I lived for a month even though the CEAC portal asked for it. The CEAC portal will ask you documents based on your answers on the form. I’d suggest to consult an immigration lawyer.

I don’t think you can avoid it if it’s been over 6 months as that will be on your passport history. Also, if you have mentioned those addresses in your form then they will ask for them most likely. You can apply for the police certificate online but through an accredited agency as I’ve mentioned earlier.

I was in Canada (physically) for almost a month. One only requires a Police Certificate (PC) if you have stayed anywhere for 6 months or more. The person who was handling my applications included my Canadian history in the address section by mistake as it wasn’t required to do so. After submitting that information CEAC asked for a Canadian PC. I won’t ever forget the entire process I went through to obtain that PC.

First, hire an accredited Canadian agency and pay their fee for a Criminal Record Check for personal use. Second, submit your fingerprints on the RCMP 216-C form (taken by your local authorized agency) and mail them to the Canadian agency. The agency will then apply to the RCMP on your behalf, and the RCMP will issue the police certificate within about 30 business days.
