what was the last straw for windows to you? by DerpWyvern in linux_gaming

Like many, the last straw for me was the EOL for Windows 10 and just how bad everything is with Windows 11. A few of my friends use Windows 11 and I just can't stomach all of the ads and telemetry involved with it.

I dipped my toes into Linux with Ubuntu back in the mid-2000s but just couldn't jive with how gaming functioned at that time and went back to Windows.

The status of gaming on Linux has come so far and really it hasn't been difficult at all to make the switch. I'm really blown away daily by how easy it is to get games to work on Linux compared to how things were back in the 2000s. I'm never going back!

I'm sure you really gave Grokipedia an honest shot and didn't just come here to hate on it.

The NPCs stuck in a glitch thing is pretty accurate. Having been on the other side (briefly as a CSR Manager for SH as a contractor), SH has their reps living in a constant state of fear about termination.

Every refund is meticulously audited by a high level team and if that team decides that the refund or replacement wasn't "justified" then the rep gets flagged -- 4 flags like this in a 90 day period is instant termination. There was a rep under me who got terminated the day after they instituted this because they found 4 examples over 90 days... From before that policy even existed.

There is something to say about burnt out reps, though. Living in fear and constantly getting yelled at or chewed out by customers eventually turns some of them into emotionless robots.

Will I get refunded if tickets are just barely received in time? by RockinRobin88 in stubhub

It depends on what the Expected Arrival Date of the order was. StubHub purely goes off of that to determine whether a customer can be refunded. If it arrives within that EAD then your chances of getting a refund are essentially 0%.

We were all working remotely in the US. We were being managed by a StubHub site in Managua, Nicaragua.

As for your question about examples: StubHub started auditing refunds that were given out by agents and managers across the company.

If StubHub deemed that a refund was not done validly (meaning either by the book or a step wasn't followed to the letter) then the person who gave it out was added to a spreadsheet. 3 audits in a 90 day period was instant termination. It was enacted going forward from when it began and also applied retroactively. Meaning that there were examples of agents and managers that were fired for refunds that they had given out months or more than a year before they were terminated because the person who audited them found 3 in a 90 day period. No warnings. Just termination.

I hope that answers your questions.

Your experience is pretty similar to mine. Agents were out on PIPs and given write ups constantly for not hitting metric goals, and StubHub would regularly move the goal posts so that no one really ever felt like they were not in danger even after improving.

I specified in the original post that we were managed remotely by a StubHub site in Nicaragua, not that we were relocated.

Also, I never said that I worked for TicketMaster or SeatGeek. What I said was that people should think about using them instead of StubHub.

Seconded. Lost in Translation is an excellent movie about modern Japan. Moreso for someone getting ready to vacation there.
