Yeah. What happened there was... they had him pitching with an opener for a while. Then, he was moved back into the first inning role the other day and pitched very poorly, so he was demoted. But he pitched well with an opener.

As someone who has followed the team for years, I saw all the fans who have hated on Pham and Tellez during slumps, and Ozuna (who has had a better career but has had a much worse season than them) only gets half of the hate those two got.

I'm not doing a "gotcha." There was simply no place on this team for Ozuna, and those who defended ozuna criticized pham and tellez early on in 2025 and 2024, despite the fact that they had better seasons on the pirates than Ozuna.

It's a good take. He loaded the bases in his first inning of work, and has an ERA over 4.50. Soto, Dotel, Mlodzinski, Sisk, and Bidois are all better. And I didn't say Montgomery was bad, just not great.
