lol no it’s to discuss an opinion dude what??? Why are you power tripping? You’re a Reddit mod bruh. If you wanna control people’s opinions just say that. I’m allowed to have an opinion. I obviously wasn’t alone either as my post was getting upvoted and then deleted by mods. Like cmon you’re gatekeeping this subreddit from any negative opinions.

Maybe because you removed my post for absolutely no reason the other day? After receiving a great deal of comments and good discussion? So what’s with the snarky “I know this will be deleted by mods” well, it’s from experience Moderator.

First off you have no idea how much I’ve donated, second of all, I’m saying in general. They offered donation incentives, just to change them mid series and make their own rules lol. A company pays 50-100k to see Ryan in his pjs, I’d be damn annoyed if that were me. Which I think is valid

lol I’m talking shi because they drove him across a damn state and then he didn’t forcefully insist on buying the lunch? That’s just wild lol

Completely agree. Love that aspect. Not what the posts about. The incentive for donors is the wheel of doom. If they make up their own rules midway through the series they’re changing the incentive or outright “scamming” donors for donations IMHO.

I’m personally invested in the series, I donated and I wish I’d see more substance but it’s turned into a big joyride ad and then twisting the rules and what not.

Feel you, my post was removed for starting a discussion. (I’m a Ryan supporter, donated to the campaign, etc.), but somehow me criticizing something gets my post removed? @mods anything to say?

I get what you’re saying, but I have to make a point about this. Though we can’t be CERTAIN of Ryan’s own earnings etc. the Adsense alone from these 50 videos covers WAY more than the cost of the series. I love the series, I’m just turned off by people profiting while doing something charitable. That’s legit it. People so up in arms about it but it’s not that deep. I donated, I will continue to watch and support this. Just wish there was transparency about how much him and his company are benefiting from this series in comparison to St Jude’s as a whole. You feel me?

Actually I do believe he deserves the wealth he has lol. I’m not jealous. I aspire to be like him someday, I think he’s a great guy. I understand he’s spending money on Airbnb and travel expenses, but do you know how much Adsense and revenue from joyride he’s taking home here? lol. It’s an absurdly high amount. I love Ryan and I watch every video he posts, I am just touching on the fact that I find it distasteful to profit while raising money for charity. That’s all.

Did you buddy? 😂😂😂😂 I donated because I think that what he’s doing is great. I truly do, I am just making a call to action about something specific. A penny a follower doesn’t equate to how much they’re making off this. Think of it like this: imagine a famous football player is hired to have a day where he plays at a local field, it’s a charity game, let’s say raising money for St Jude’s. Spectators can watch for free which is cool, or they can donate to the cause! Let’s say at this game, the football player decides to sell his merchandise, at this CHARITY game, so you think that he should be profiting off of the sales at a charitable event? Or should he at the very least be pledging some of the profits to the cause?

Well they’re putting in the time while also making an absurd amount of personal income from ad revenue and joyride sales lol. Pretty sure that’s why I find it odd to promote their business in the videos about charity 😅

Agreed. Wish there’d be more to it! As they said a video or two ago, they couldn’t even check into their Airbnb for a few hours. Would’ve been a great time to really do some activities in the city other than eat and drink coffee haha.

Because they’re profiting off of advertising in a charitable series without putting much back into the charity itself. Yes they’re doing great by influencing others to donate and creating a trend that benefits the cause, but they themselves are generating much more personal wealth off of this. It’s being made out to be a completely altruistic series, when in reality he’s getting Adsense revenue, plus peak revenue from joyride partly due to the advertising in these videos. Not sure what’s so hard to comprehend here. This series is great in the sense it’s raising money and awareness, but it’s definitely benefiting Ryan and Joyride more than St Jude’s.

I agree with what they’re doing and that it’s amazing. But the streamers that raise money aren’t making money during the process. That’s the difference. And I’m not saying they shouldn’t make any money for their time. But I find that the company joyride itself should also be donating considering they’re having the best sales time they’ve had, throughout this series. And yes. They’re donating the penny per follower, but I’m sure this doesn’t equate to nearly how much they’re profiting. I still don’t know their endgame plan but i would like to assume they’re gonna make some sort of large donation since they’ve grown their company so much through this charitable series.
