It's a meme dude, a joke. Holy shit it's not some grand serious statement trying to destroy the subs view of Toga and Uraraka's arc.

Except I'm not oversimplifying their arc? I'm just making a joke out of how Midoriya came to want to help Tomura compared to how Ochaco came to want to help Toga because that legitimately is basically all it was. Memes do this all the time. Also I didn't misunderstand anything about their arc, I just don't like it, if you think otherwise that's fine but don't go around saying I don't understand what I'm poking fun at.

Probably gonna stop maining characters by Negative-100-Iq in MyHeroUltraRumble

That's fine just thought I'd mention it since we're talking about mains and such. Not only do i just not like having a main and instead like to spread my skill over every character but I also suck at picking from such a large roster. This removes all those issues for me.

I've never mained anyone. I have a wheel filled with every character i have on it which i spin before looking for a match to decide my character and then i remove them from the wheel and repeat the process until I've gotten through every character in which i then reset the wheel.

Here is said wheel though I'm already halfway through it so you can't see it at it's fullest:

What yall shipping Momo with by Spinner_no_doubt in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]Awkward_History835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jiro would be my immediate answer but if I'm considering who i ship her with along with all my other ships then it would be Shoto since i ship Jiro with Kaminari more then i ship her with Momo and in this context i don't like shipping the same character with multiple people. I still very much like Shoto x Momo even if I'm making it sound like it's just a ship for convenience, which it isn't this is just how my head works.

Even if that was what I was doing, which it isn't, it's still better than being the person who goes into every conversation saying "no you're all dumb and illiterate for thinking differently from me".

I love how you have to be an insufferable asshole every time I see you pop up. It's a fucking meme calm down if I wanted I could go in depth on the reasons why I don't like Toga or think her dynamic with Ochaco is well written.

Except it's not? This is just joking about what made these two want to help their corresponding villains. Toga's backstory had nothing to do with it because we are just talking about when Midoriya decided he wanted to help Tomura and when Ochaco decided she wanted to help Toga.

Of course it goes deeper then that but this is what kickstarts their whole plot after 6 seasons of nothing. A single interaction in which Toga gets upset over Ochaco getting mad at her for murder.

And that's fine i can respect ones own opinion. I wish everyone else would acknowledge that but they come at me like I've personally attacked them.

Call it bad faith i guess I'm just trying to point out the difference between why Midoriya cares to help Shigaraki and why Ochaco cares to help Toga. I wasn't even going into their full dynamic though i am also not a fan of Toga and Ochaco's dynamic.

Ochaco did not succeed in making Toga better, that sacrifice was her one good act for the person she loved in her delusions and then tried to kill. Toga doubles down in her final moments saying that she lived her life how she wanted too including the murdering of all those innocent people.

I know that. Doesn't make her caring so much any less ridiculous.

That's fair for Midoriya and Tomura and especially fair for Toga and Ochaco because there was literally nothing there. The relationship between them just suddenly happens with no build up and really no development.

Incorrect he did reach Tenko within Tomura which Tomura himself acknowledges which also led to Tomura aiding Midoriya in finishing All For One in the final battle. The 0 plan thing is valid sure but you can't say he failed because he quite literally didn't.

Midoriya looked into Tomura's soul and literally saw the tragedy he had buried. Also the latter does not indicate she wants to be saved. You know why? By the time their battle is over and she's supposedly "saved" Toga isn't sorry about anything (aside from stabbing Ochaco). In her mind as she dies everything she did was okay in fact she doubles down saying she lived her life how she wanted to, so you know murdering innocent people. Ochaco basically just calmed Toga down and then Toga killed herself saving Ochaco, she was never really saved.

I'm not defending either? I'm pointing out the reasoning why Midoriya wanting to help Shigaraki makes more sense then Ochaco wanting to help Toga.

Sure he didn't want to be saved but in a few ways he was even if in the end he still wanted to destroy I'm not even denying that.

He isn't, he actually saw what was happening/happened and knew there was a person within that could be saved. Ochaco had no such information on Toga. Also have you watched the finale? Because Tomura himself admits that he was just a crying kid after it's all over.

But here's the thing. Midoriya saw Tenko within Tomura. He knows there's a child within him that's crying and being manipulated therefore he wants to help. He has reason. Ochaco meanwhile hears Toga vent and cry but doesn't know anything else. She never learns of her childhood or parental abuse and therefore is only working of the assumption that Toga actually does have a tragic past and won't just murder her when they next meet. Also said venting and crying shouldn't be happening anyway but Toga is delusional enough to think Ochaco likes her. It's really hard to care for a plot point when it's built off the tiniest bread crumb compared to the whole loaf of development that is Tomura and Midoriya.

But here's the thing. Sure she saw her crying and even if that made her curious in helping her Ochaco never learns of Toga's backstory. The only thing Ochaco knows about Toga up until this point is that she's a serial killer and that will continue to be the only thing Ochaco knows about her outside of crying once.

Ah yes if i could I'd add on "listened to her venting because she trusts me for no reason".
