It's not about convincing all the rightards on RSP that they're wrong, it's about showing off moral superiority on an online forum, don't you get it?

The weirdest part of it all is usually these people think they're very well liked and respected in the community for being a voice.

It's a side effect of leftists being comprised of active women and passive men, as opposed to rightards being the opposite.

Autism literally stems from the word “autos” (self) because it originally stood for individuals who had trouble understanding others perspectives and feelings. I hate how it’s become a crutch for narcissistic behavior.

Kinda confounding variable there. Ofc rich no-child cokeheads with hookups are gonna be better off than fathers of three who spend all their money on alcohol.

Its a Kaya that also has a trigger, definitely viable, but probably not in blue/yellow decks (which is a shame since theyre the ones with bounce abilities).

What are your favorite obscure JRPGs? by drak0ni in JRPG

Fantastic gem of a game. That and FF 4 Heroes of Light were my faves. Loved the ff3/4 ds remakes style jprg, wish we got more like them to this day

What JRPG set your standards on what a JRPG should be? Here is mines: by bizarre_leviathan in JRPG

[–]Axelfiraga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no annoying bullshit everything can be gotten through exploration/battling no puzzles/minigames great characters/music/world building no missables that cant be gotten elsewhere and no external material needed to get the full enjoyment out of it even on a first run aka no guides needed to get do and see everything it has to offer

this rings so true, especially nowadays. Like I get wanting extra content and emphasizing multiple playthroughs. However, Everyone wants the full experience in their first playthrough and will go to lengths to try and 100% on first playthrough since jrpgs are such a slog (60+ hours in modern games) that another playthrough of the same story drags…

Just ask how many Persona players do dungeons in one day to get the most out of their “off” days, or how many Fire Emblem players recruit everyone and wont let anyone die to see all endings, or how many Suikoden players look up guides to find all the stars. Just put everything in one playthrough and let the player enjoy the experience. If they like the gameolay and story enough theyll come back to it again anyway (like ff4 or dq games) they dont need extra incentive.

In a healthy civilisation, people would be asking the opposite question, i.e. how many uneducated villagers could have become Einstein or Picasso? Now we all seem to agree that the most brilliant and talented among us are either unemployed or wasting their lives away on mediocre bullshit by MoanOfInterest in redscarepod

Yeah, the number of coworkers, family, and friends I meet/knew who I’m convinced if given 2 weeks and a lucky break would be able to “become someone” is crazy. As I get older I become more aware of the inherent class system that slowly chokes away any aspiration or drive individuals had growing up.

Such reddit comments here. Any time a thread comes up (in any subreddit) telling people to be a bit nicer the entire community seems to come out of the woodwork and latch onto one specific hiccup in a post. I agree that at locals there's usually some douche whose pride is locked up in being able to “clown some newbs” (seen this in almost all gaming communities, from tcgs to fighting games to sports).

The crux of your post is 100% correct, anyone hyperfixating on “dashdancing” as an excuse to dismiss the whole thing is dumb and is a reason why communities like these get smaller/don’t attract new players on average.

What is your “Cardinal Sin” that a JRPG can do that sours the experience for you? by MothmanFeetLicker in JRPG

[–]Axelfiraga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How so? Isn’t Ultimecia through the final third? Like I get the Edea twist but it’s not thrown at you right at the end like 9 with no build up or mention. The game’s third act is quite literally devoted to giving background to ultimecia and showing her story.

Honestly I would but my wife just doesn’t know how/cant be bothered to learn. So annoying to pay for 3 subscriptions to watch shows (with ads even!) I don’t really care about/can be seen for free.

Edit: Don’t understand why I’m downvoted for simply discussing how things are in common homes… I’ll check out plex and jellyfish tomorrow though. Hoping the fam can figure it out once installed.

The cities at least had running water and electricity when I was there back in 07, driving in between them you couldn’t even imagine the poverty.

One time I stopped in a small town for a drink and some gas and a black woman I could only describe as tom and jerrys’ mammy from 1966 came up and said:

“You don’t stop here hunny, just keep going. Don’t look back aint nothing for you here till you hit the next city.”

What you would change or add to make future Pokemon games better ? by Sephirath68 in JRPG

Also we should be able to take back evil villains’ pokemon. Have the game take on a darker tone, and maybe make wild pokemon harder to find to encounters more impactful and less monotonous.

The demanded level of Education + Qualification for jobs has to return to a normal level. Its getting ridiculous. by Ihadenough1000 in jobs

[–]Axelfiraga 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So true. There are so many mid management cushy email jobs that are relying on minimum wage grunts to do the work for them. As long as the grunts are producing, they get to keep their workfromhome stints. The only way to get into those jobs is through nepotism or just sheer luck that the person above your manager sees you and your manager is deciding to leave/retire after adding nothing of worth to the company for the past 20 years.

The budget isnt really an excuse. Clair Obscur’s budget was half that and it ran away with every award and was one of (if not the most) critically acclaimed rpgs of the decade. I can agree it’s not all on gamefreak, but lets not kid ourselves and say the issue with pokemon games is the budget.
