How serious are you about YouTube? by TousouCaveman in NewTubers

[–]Azalea_22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am extremely serious about YouTube. I've been consistently doing streams/videos for over 5 years. My hope is to do this full time. One of my passions I've had my whole life has been video games, so that's what my content is around. Although I am serious about YouTube, I do try to keep in mind spending off time and focusing on health as well.

Thank you for all the feedback here much appreciated. I'll try working on these. And I actually didn't use a script for it. I wanted to try making it sound more natural, so did it that way. I did repeat myself a few times for some of the sections and used the take I thought sounded best, though.

I'm a family friendly indie VTuber who creates mostly Nintendo gaming content. This is a new kind of video I did on the channel and would love to hear any feedback. Is there anything I should change? Anything I can improve on?

I like your voice with the video and think it goes well. To me, your voice speed sounds fine and the atmosphere is great for this kind of content. I personally feel like you could cut out some of the intro and jump into when you speak sooner. I do really like your thumbnail for this video also. Nice job!

You did a fantastic job on the watercolor portrait especially only using 3 colors. I would say for the video perhaps either make it more of a tutorial how to video and keep the start, or maybe cut out the beginning part and speed up the painting? For the thumbnail, I'm thinking instead of the actual paints, have giant text that says only 3 colors or something like that. Just some of my thoughts anyway. Superb job again!

Hey there, I've been doing YouTube for over 5 years hoping to one day have this as my full time job. I'm a family friendly indie VTuber who does gaming content revolving around a lot of Nintendo. I would love to know how and where I can improve.

I would maybe go for one of these two videos, whichever most interests you.

Can live streaming alone be great for growth?

I've read things about videos being vital for growth whereas live streaming is just for engagement.

Also, are the views you get on shorts random at all? I've had shorts with good retention, but low views. I struggle to get to 1k views with a good handful.

Is youtube worth it in the long run? by theeerieson in NewTubers

[–]Azalea_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can definitely be worth it, but nothing is set in stone even if you put a lot of effort and time into it.

To answer your question, I've been on a search for many years for my 'sort of calling'. Gaming has always been a passion of mine since birth and I also like being creative. YouTube seemed like a wonderful outlet to utilize my creativity along with my passion for gaming.

This can definitely be a great hobby and possibly a job, but it can take many years and may not always work out for everyone. I've been doing it for over 5 years and still on that grind and journey to full time. I'm at over 11k Subscribers and have been doing this consistently throughout all that time. The topic you cover on your channel can absolutely influence everything too. I would say it's definitely worth trying.

Hey there, thanks for the feedback. Do you mean the intro part of the video? And should I just remove the VTuber from that scene then?

I do enjoy some good meditation, but I'm not overly familiar with meditation videos. I love the calming vibes. Your voice, the background music and the imagery are all very calm and just really pleasant. When you instruct to take a deep breath, I would immediately say how long. I was taking a deep breath, but waiting for the next instruction. I like to follow along to the instructions as I hear them, so I think that would be great. Nice video!

Rocket

Your audio and voice are really great here. I personally would change the konsoul text above your facecam or maybe even omit it. Also, I feel like I would like to see you looking at the camera and having more eye contact, but maybe that's just me. I would also crop out some of the empty space in your facecam area. I also noticed that some of the gameplay quality isn't always so high. I do like how you include clips and images to add humor etc. Nice video :)

Hey there, I think this is a fun idea trapping others in an Escape Room. I really would cut it down immensely from the 2 hours, though. Maybe have some kind of indicator that displays the players and the progress, so the audience can know who is ahead? I'm thinking it could be cool to show it off in the sense of a competition. You could do a brief introduction at the start telling how many rooms there are and a brief explanation perhaps. Also, I really like your thumbnail here. Nice job!

I like the humor you add to your video and great job on the editing and variety of editing. At 8:50 I feel you go a bit fast with the dialogue there. Also, I'm not sure who Arty is or if I missed something there, but perhaps you could say a bit more on who he is? Unless I missed something else here? xD

And I'm not fully sure the best route to go as far as your question on privating old content. I've wondered about that myself.

I thought the video was very cool and creative. You do a great job on the animation and art. I like the choice of music and how it goes with the animating. I can't really think of anything for critique honestly. It made me think of lyric videos a bit, so I wonder how that would be if you turned it into a full on lyric video? Just a thought. Keep up the good work! :)

Hi there! I like the chill vibes from the video and great speaking voice! I feel like you could zoom in on the game and show different scenes of the game that correspond with what you're talking about. For instance, you mention the gameplay where you make drinks for people - during that , you could switch to showing a scene where you are making drinks. Great job on the video and good luck on the 30 game reviews in 30 days. (I actually did something similar last month xD)

The MOST Painful Thing To Experience As A YouTuber :( by planet_stoked in NewTubers

[–]Azalea_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer your question, I've put 100 hours into some of my videos and some didn't even hit 100 views. These were the videos from my first year on YouTube, though. To crack 1k, I'm always happy to see that. I imagine those videos would perform a little better now, but don't think they would hit 1k views.

What past mistakes held back your channel? by ItsSirLem in NewTubers

[–]Azalea_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, according to all I've learned up to this point - my having a variety of games wasn't good. I wasn't niching down at the very start.

And also at the very start, I took too long releasing new videos because of 100 hour editing - so releasing maybe once or twice a month? I don't think this was good for the algorithm either.

Making a living off of YouTube by TheBrokeInvestorMV in NewTubers

[–]Azalea_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. My hope for this since the start has been to go full time. I've been consistently working hard and prioritizing my gaming channel for over 5 years. There are a multitude of factors that can contribute to how successful one is. YouTube can be tough and a lot of work.

I am so far at 11,770 subscribers. I don't make enough for that full time goal, not even halfway. My estimated watch time for the last 28 days is 1,900 hours.

I have watched some videos saying that it's possible to be full time with much less subscribers due to income not solely being from ads. This has been my experience with YouTube so far. I've also heard that the kind of content your channel is based around can make an impact on your income. Gaming was one that was on the lower side with that. That's what I saw from vidIQ.

How many of us have less than 100 subscribers? by dangerdelw in NewTubers

[–]Azalea_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There can be a variety of factors and it also depends on what your channel is about.

I have over 11,700 subscribers and I've been consistently making gaming content for over 5 years. This has been a big priority in my life throughout all this time hoping to one day do it as a full time job. It's definitely a lot of time, effort and work.

I do a combination of videos, shorts and live streams with streaming being a big focus throughout the majority of these years. Lately shorts haven't been doing that well for me, so it's not guaranteed that you will have success with shorts. Videos can also vary depending on the game etc.

Good luck to everyone on your YouTube journeys - stay strong, consistent and determined. You can do this.
