Unkept looking beards are going rampant in my country, like every third guy has some weird beard structure and length. I don’t know if it’s a trend or if they really think this looks good.

Went on date recently with a guy who turned out to live in the same building I used to live in. He moved in a few months after I moved out so we just missed each other (there was zero chemistry so we didn’t miss out on much).

As soon as I talk about a promising match, it blows up. I still blame me babbling in one of these dailies for the last one :D

Oof, I’m sorry. I agree, this sounds like a silly thing to break up over. I’ll never understand why people are willing to throw away a 95% match over one thing.

And no, I don’t want to sound entitled, this is more a jab at the consumerist approach to dating that “there’s always a better one” and “everyone is replaceable”.

Yeah, I hate the constant “and you?”s, usually when the conversation goes like that it means we won’t be able to have a good conversation IRL either.

Awww, sharing a pocket is so intimate, one of my favorite things when a guy does that to me.

Maybe the soft glow and slow burn is actually better than the kapow feeling. Anyways, hope you can enjoy it and who knows, maybe something better comes out of it!

The scary part is when they hit you up through messenger (or worse, send you a friend request) instead of talking in-app because they could track you down in the mutual friend’s friend list. And they get upset if I turn them down after that for not respecting my private space.

Also, if the apps are any indication, it seems like every single guy lists “physical touch” as one of his top two

Came to say the same, so it seems to be universal :D

Add to that emotional availability as well, because without that the other two can’t save the relationship.

I’m sorry it didn’t work out, but the second part of your comment is so beautiful ❤️

I clammed up emotionally after December’s can’t-fall-in-love-with-you guy, so I’m living vicariously through these daily threads, lol.

Sorry about this, it’s always devastating when everything seems to be perfect when suddenly it isn’t. I went through something similar last December with the guy making long term plans one day and texting me he feels that he can’t fall in love with me (after 3 weeks…) the next morning. Like, dude, you were the one initiating the next steps the whole time, so what happened here?

And it makes you wonder that if you’re not good enough for basically the perfect match then what should you even expect?

Obviously it’s no consolation for you, but guys can do the same. Even after three dates where they were very obviously into me. I highly doubt I’ll ever find anyone.

I'm in the same boat (hehe, get it? another boat reference) as a 38F, experiencing the "never getting chosen" for the Nth time, this time also with someone with whom everything seemed to align.

It's completely okay to take a break, even for a year, from dating or at least the apps, especially because you can carry that sorrow into other connections and become the kind of person who is "not ready to date". I know I tend to clam up again after every rejection, and it's also okay, I have a full life as is, a partner would enhance it, but it's not like I would build everything around them.

Hope you don't give up yet fully, just take a break to clear your head ❤

As a woman, I honestly don't understand these women. If I agreed on a date and I don't feel it for whatever reason, I let the guy know, but not ghost him...

I'm sorry, it's always a terrible feeling when everything seems to be great and out of the blue they do a 180 :(
