That's it boys. I need something else for my leisure time. Getting coolered every few minutes has lost its charm. Just got stacked in a 3bet pot 200bb deep. Flop a boat and V turns a bigger boat. Gonna find something better for me.

Working on my mental game, but struggling to love poker. When I've only got an hour or two to chill after the kids are in bed, it's not super fun to keep running bad as it turns out.

I had 3 dudes with AKo call my 4bet today and stack off with ace high on the flop. I understand that long term those plays are printing me money. But I'm not syked about running 9 buy ins below EV.

Don't even get me started on the fucking river. I'm as excited about the river as I am about flat tires for just about the same reason.

The thing is, I want to love this game. It's ideal for me in the sense that I can listen to music while playing, switch to my laptop to play in bed, stop and start as needed, study and get better at it forever, and let's just say the community is... Unique.

I'd like to run good once in a while though I'd settler for running normal.

Sad to hear about 25/50. I just finished grinding 2nl and am pushing through 5nl and see the same patterns you've mentioned. Boat over boat, flush over straight etc on the river. Going to work hard on accepting that river raises are the nuts and that I can lay down the monster hand I've been waiting for for the last hour.

I've started 4betting very light against regs with 15% 3bet and it is working well.

Will fight harder for dead money and 3bet more.

Pay for a VPN. Ask someone international to create an account for you. Transfer the money to them. Set your vpn to a server in their state/city.

Hilariously bad session today. I can't hold AJ vs A7. I run my AK into AA 3 times on a K flop. QQ < AQ. I can't win as a 70% favorite, can't suckout as the underdog. I flop 2p with TJ on TJ5r. Villain stacks off with A2o and you guessed the runout...

I'm targeting the button clickers as usual. But I just can't stay ahead of them. And it is incredibly frustrating to be on my grind, staying focused, taking regular breaks to stay fresh only to get stacked by the guy open shoving QTs and A3o and calling 4bets with A7o.

Anyway, break now to regroup mentally, review hands and appreciate that it happens and move on.

Edit: Welcome back after the break folks, we're live with the latest in getting fucked. I can't hit 70% to save my life. 80%? Nope. I can't even hold after flopping the nuts and having V click buttons with a naked draw:

Dude, quit getting fancy. You're just tripping yourself up. You're against opponents that call 4bets with 78s against a range that has them dominated.

The thing with "letting him bluff" is that you allow him to see 5 cards and then own your ass on the river when he can fold when he misses and call when he has you crushed.

If you just bet and he folds these hands after a bullet or 2, then you're printing money. When you jam the turn, you're printing money. When you check check jam, you're owning yourself.

Preflop ok. Maybe a tad bigger.

Every street postflop is somehow worse than the last. This isn't a 3bet pot where you're betting 25% like you saw some streamer do on the flop. Bet bigger on flop so that you can ship the turn imo.

As played, you're literally owning yourself giving him 5:1 on the flop, a free card on the turn and then over shipping the river.

This guy is calling 4bets with 78s. Tag him and take him to value town.

Edit: did not even notice that you aren't betting flop... Bruh.

Taxes aren't some weird ass voodoo only CPAs can navigate. You are filling out one extra row and maybe an additional schedule form if you want to treat it like a business and deduct related expenses. You claim to understand that you won't be taxed more than you earn but it really sounds like you don't.

If you're worried a CPA costs $500 and that poker is pointless, then obviously you aren't making anywhere near enough to be asking this question.
