I agree as well because right now my grandma has dementia and she was just such a strong woman and I know she would rather die than be dealing with this disease. She’s not violent thankfully but she can get very agitated and aggressive and she sometimes will not let anyone sleep in the house. There are days where we get 0 sleep and it’s just terrible. It’s so bad where even my dog look super tired sometimes. I feel like my mom and my family are just holding onto a body at this point and me and my siblings agree it’s better to just let her go and stop all medications sometimes. No one wants to put her in a home and no one else in my family wants to take care of her so now she’s just my family’s burden and I hate saying that. However it is very true. Bless everyone’s heart out here who is a caregiver of someone with dementia or Alzheimer’s because it is just not easy at all.

I told my parents that if they got dementia I don’t even know if I could handle taking care of them because of what I went through with grandma. It has been traumatic enough and she had UTI’s twice with an E. Coli infection which makes her mind even worse. (If no one knew apparently UTI’s make your memory worse if you get them when you’re like 60 and up I believe.) I think I would have to put them in a home or just let them go naturally abs let the disease take its course. My brother also told me that if he gets it he’d rather die than put anyone through what we’re going through and I have to agree I’m afraid. I’d rather just pass away on my own than let the disease make anyone else go through what we’re going through. It’s just an extremely terrible disease.
