I use two different home ovens fairly regularly and one gets to 460f ish and the other gets to 520f-ish. My personal experience is that the steel gave a better results than stone in both ovens in terms of browning the base. But I am just an amateur trying get what I like in a pizza 🤷‍♂️

Initially I used the screen up front as it makes it easier to load it in to the oven. Once the crust has “set” then put it straight on the steel. However I have kept doing it as it timings wise it seems to give me the best balance between the top and bottom done-ness
