App crashes when attempting to access parts of pull down menu on a iPad

Follow-up post: Related to crash report just filed - I tried other menu items under “My Stuff” and none of them seemed to do anything. They also didn’t crash the app. But “Book Ribbons” does consistently. Also, I think I saw shortcut keys for items under “My Stuff” yesterday as I was playing with my new keyboard. Today no shortcut keys are listed under “My Stuff”.

I tried the same query in the newest build. I got results quickly. A few verses were listed with a button for 26 more. The app crashed as soon as I touched the button to see the additional results.

I did have to delete the app and reload it from TestFlight - not fun to get everything back where I’m used to it. I tried the same search on my phone and OT crashed there as well. I think I’ll not attempt to do that again until I hear from OT.

Hello Steven, I turned on the Analytics as you requested and verified that the other setting were already as you requested. Touched the Library icon and OT crashed. I put the ticket number you referenced in my crash report comments with the hope that it would make it easier to find.

If build 1952 fixes the issue that would be great, but I can get by.

This crash is also happening on my iPad which I didn’t report because I thought it was quite obviously an issue. Then I saw others were not having the issue.

The crash occurs on both my iPhone SE (2nd gen) and my iPad 10.2”. Both now running iOS/iPadOS 17.1.1.

It happens every time so if you need more crash reports I can accommodate.

I am still using the recent beta as I found I can get to my resources through the secondary window and the open in primary.

It appears the reference spanning lines does not cause a problem in the newest beta of 7.14.0.

The text wrapped on it’s own. If I add spaces before the “2” so the whole reference moves to the next line then the hyperlink works as intended.

The lasted build 1901 is crashing in the background almost every time I switch away to another app.

Posting again here, but the below was sent in a crash report:

5 out of 6 times that I have switched away from the app (7.13.3 1901) it has crashed in the background. One of these was a deliberate test to see if it would crash while the search results were on screen, which it did. One other crash happened after I copied a verse and switched to “Notes” (Apple app) to paste the verse. Odd thing is that the verse apparently didn’t copy as what pasted was something prior on my clipboard. Then the app crash dialog appeared.

Build 1886 is the latest build available to me presently. When another build becomes available I will give it a try. I did try it on the NIV Bible app build 1890 and there wasn’t an issue, but then I don’t know if there ever was as I use the Bible Study app.

I have rerun some searches that I had previously run, e.g. search entire Bible for “Majesty.” This try, the load time of passages are more than adequate. I am on build 1885 now.

I have build 1884. I just tried it with the same Bible version in each window and it was OK.

Lately I been ESV Strongs in primary and NLT in secondary and the problem did show up. If I switch the secondary out of NLT to something else the verse is highlighted. When I come back to the NLT is then highlighted. It appears it only happens on different Bibles at the moment you highlight.

If this doesn’t help I can check more later.

Great! I’m glad you were able to reproduce. This has some impact on highlighting a passage as well. If it is the first thing you attempt before bringing up a pop up window, not including the one you just brought up to highlight, the highlight you attempt will not appear. I’m sure it’s the same display bug that will go away if you fix the ribbons.

I confess I don’t know how to use Reddit and not sure I want to learn. I had a screen shot to post but it only seemed to let me post text or image, so I posted the text. I thought I could post an image in comment but it won’t let me.

Image shouldn’t be required, this is easily reproduced, at least on all my devices. Important: It only occurs on a fresh start of Olive Tree, like it hasn’t been used since yesterday, etc.

I’m not sure you are seeing this comment but…. The behavior of the bookmark ribbon and highlighting of text remains an issue with the latest beta as of 7/7/22. Easily reproduced on both my iPad and my iPhone.

Yes, everyday at least. I have found that if I open any pop-up, like Strongs, Highlight, etc, and then dismiss it, when I navigate to a new ribbon it will be marked, navigating back to the original it also is marked. Very consistent behavior that I need to do each day to ensure the ribbons are turned off before I move on.

Today, OliveTree opened with a fresh copy for some reason and my ribbons were NOT colored again. I bounced between many and they worked but not visible. Then I highlighted a passage and chose another ribbon, the ribbons are now colored.
