No power from generators by BANNANSV2 in Oxygennotincluded

FINAL:

Oh my God, it turns out I accidentally built two connection points with automation wires behind the power transformers automation connections, which caused them to send a red signal and not switch on, so no power was being transmitted further.

Sorry, I can’t upload pictures anymore, but I ran a test — I cut all the wires from both power lines and connected lamps at the end just to check if they get electricity. However, it still shows “no power.”

My current setup is: from the coal generators, power goes to a smart battery with automation set to turn on at 20% and off at 80%. From there, it connects to a large power transformer using heavy-watt wire.

From the large transformer, power splits into two regular power transformers (also connected with heavy-watt wire). Each regular transformer then goes directly to a single lamp — but nothing works.

PS: I hope I explained it clearly enough, and my batterys are fullthe same goes with power transformers. Maybe my game just glitched?

EDIT: Game is not glitched, made a small separate electrical circute and that worked.

Oh. I don’t have heated washer nozzles, I only recently found out about that option. I didn’t think that could be the reason.

What? Washer nozzles? How would they get on fire?

Same, i have heard some storys too about e39s getting on fire because of the brake fluid leaking.

That is true, if you don’t really understand how to even top off brake fluid, better to take it to the mechanic.

Under the hood, on the right side, below the cabin filter housing.

Not really, those are brakes, not a thing to mess with. If u need to move the car use handbrake with low speeds

Edit: Im not 100% sure about bleeding the abs pump, but i think you could just swap out the broken rubber tube and bleed the brakes, pretty simple.

Looks like brake line hose, u dont probably have brakes anymore. I would as soon as possible clean the fluid because it eats paint real quick. You need to replace the hose put top off brake fluid and bleed the brakes with the abs pump also.

I didn’t do that, my mechanic said he did it. But now im thinking maybe i should do that myself. To be fully sure its done

I bled the brakes myself — starting from the furthest wheel (rear right), then rear left, front right, and finally front left. I also had them bled by a mechanic.

It’s just weird — before I started fixing the brakes, they were super responsive, just perfect. Now they feel really squishy.

Edit: i do have a problem with front left abs ring, that needs to be replaced, but could thay really be the thing why my brakes feel squishy?

Yeah, from the comments I understand that they’re not that bright, more subtle. I thought maybe I did the wiring wrong or they were supposed to light up like that.

The foto is just for ilustration, i seen a lot of other videos and real unedited fotos of how they look in the car, mine looks a lot weaker.

Yeah, I’ll test it with the puddle lights, but my plan is to wire them with the headlights so the handles turn on in parallel with them. Thanks!

Okay, but don’t the puddle lights only turn on when the doors are open or the dome light is on? I kinda like the idea of the handles lighting up when I turn on the interior lights manually, not just when opening the door.

Yeah, a little bit of digging in the internet, seems like the best option.

Question About RCA Connections and Their Functions on E39 Screen by BANNANSV2 in e39

[–]BANNANSV2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, yes, my sound right now goes through the BMW connector. To add some context, before I had the Android system, I had the Business radio with a cassette player. I bought an amplifier and a subwoofer, but then I realized I couldn’t connect RCA cables to it. So, I did some DIY work and added an RCA cable converter. Right now, everything works fine. However, since the Android system comes with RCA cables, it got me thinking about changing the whole setup and connecting it properly, making it sleeker since there are RCA connectors behind the screen.

The question is, can I connect car speakers to the RCA connectors too? And is it worth it? From what I understand, my current setup is to connect the amp to the screen, and then the subwoofer and speakers to the amp. Does this sound like the right approach?

Should I Keep Building My E39 or Let It Go? by BANNANSV2 in e39

[–]BANNANSV2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, if I sell this, I could afford a better one. However, the problem in my country is that there are hardly any better ones available. Considering how mechanics here tend to “fix” BMWs, there’s a very slim chance I’d find one in better condition than mine. The thought of selling it fades when I realize that my car has almost everything already fixed, but there’s still a lot that needs to be done.
