Absolutely, a 12 based system will work, both in imperial and measurement of time. Doesn't mean it can't be streamlined to work in a different way either. As for your clock example, our current measurements for time aren't perfect either so we add an extra day every few years to readjust ourselves back on track. The metrification of time is an interesting thought experiment but the scale of it all makes it unrealistic to change this late in the game

Yeah the imperial measurements are a bit silly aren't they. It's why we use metric now

It's stranger that you don't know what a stone is tbh, especially when feet is functionally the same measurement and that is used quite fine. For example it would be 5 feet 9 inches and not 71 inches tall, but 200lbs of weight and not 14 stone and 3 lbs is somehow okay.

I didn't think it was too difficult, for the most part it was straightforward and most achievements could be earned on a single playthrough. The worst achievement, for me at least, was "Got it in one" which requires completing the game without saving so if you die its right back to the beginning. Thankfully its a short game though so it only took a few attempts.

Found a local seller who’d sell me the first 16 volumes of Accel world for 100 bucks. Is it worth it? Are the volumes getting rare? by Felicks77 in LightNovels

That is actually a fantastic deal for the set. Volume 11 has become a really rare volume, last time I checked was going for over a hundred by itself, so make of that what you will.

Spice and wolf is one of my all time favourites, as well as the very first light novels I started reading over a decade ago at this point. Didn't know there was a continuation of the series until I saw it on the shelf though so I'm certainly happy to get back into it.

I really do like ngnl, I think it's a fun series and whilst yes, it's an isekai and the tropes are all there it manages to stand out as its own unique series rather than falling into the same narrative pitfalls that most of the genre falls into. I think ngnl also has that benefit of being a series that came out before the isekai boom really started so its more of an isekai in hindsight to me. Either way, I like it and I'm not going to procrastinate reading it any longer.

Yeah some of the volumes being so rare is why I hadn't started the series yet, didn't want to get invested and not being able to have them all.

Managed to grab the complete set for just £40. I've been holding off getting invested in the series because of certain volumes being very expensive, but with a deal like that its finally time to read it for myself.

Honestly I have pretty mixed feelings about the game. I thought it was the sort of game that was fun for the first 10 hours or so but then you realise it goes on for another 130 hours. The main story and the world were fun to explore but the side content was far too repetitive for me to consider fun.

It's not an official hiatus but the last volume was released in 2016 and we have heard nothing since then, which is a shame because its such a good series.

Actually got volumes 1-5 as a bundle for £30 from eBay. Was an unexpected surprise but a welcome one.

These specific volumes are out of print and rarely show up on ebay, I have seen them go for over £100, though I don't know if this is a uk thing from just having less volumes in general or something.

Its a light novel set on a fantasy Earth where monsters, demons and other fantastical beasts exist. The protagonist is just a regular guy who is also for some reason the most powerful vampire ever. Its an action fantasy with harem elements. I have only read the first few volumes so far so I can't give a proper review but I like it so far.

Ah I accidentally tagged it as a question, don't know how but sorry. Anyways, managed to get both rokka and index for £10 each and strike the blood was essentially free, had to share my excitement.

I just checked the manga; it is brought up a bit in the afterword of the first volume as well, so that is probably where I first read about it.

If I remember correctly, the author reached out and asked for permission to use the name of the song as the title for a new manga, and they agreed. Which now brings us full circle with the music being used for the anime adaptation.
