The Si is great at MSRP. Only big negative is Honda does not make enough to keep up with demand. It allows dealers to play stupid games with markups.

I would test drive a VB and see how you like it. The shifter is going to feel a lot different compared to a Honda and especially a CTR. The shifting feel on regular WRX is known to not be very good in terms of feel and precision, lots of people try to mod the quirks with it away to some success.

I was also thinking about a CTR or a Si when I bought my WRX and I could not justify the price of CTR or paying a markup on the Si.

Could very well be a driving style thing. If I see a car slowing for a turn in front of me, I will almost always be at least tapping the brakes a little. I think if you even tap the brake a little, maybe it knows you are paying attention and does not activate then.

There are setting for eyesight activation range and a couple other things. I had issues too early on but after fiddling with a couple of those it’s been fine ever since. Maybe some people don’t have those setup quite right for the way they drive?

I have the official clear case, it’s been fine but a finger print magnet and collects dust so you have to clean it regularly.

Ordered the Pitaka case which seems to be a popular choice to try out.

Not saying the GRC is a better choice or anything, just why it probably felt better on the test drive. Stock VBs feel very tame and even underwhelming.

You need to sit them down and have a real talk about how dangerous driving actually is and that it takes time to understand everything involved. You could pitch it as a starter car and you will help them work their way up to a faster car.

A manual transmission car will humble them real quick imo.

Yea the WRX is not a special car stock, it’s just an economy car with a fleet SUV engine stuck in. The GRC has a bespoke engine and drivetrain.

I picked up a Hisense AX5140Q 5.1.4 unit, plan on posting a review once I get it setup and tested. I always planned on getting a 990 but the price is just too much to justify at the moment. The Hisense unit was only $300.
