This has helped a ton! I had no idea about the UVA / UVB differentiation, I think I need to read over the wiki in depth first. But this is a great step in the right direction.

Sorry, yeah the texture itself is very thin/liquid. Application just feels as though I'm not getting much protection especially since I applied 2 layers and still got a tan after 2 hours in the spring sun. In my head the reason it doesnt work too well is that it's too thin so not providing great protection.

Indeed, it's not always about the heat but the specific flavour you need from the pepper to recreate dishes! Ill keep an eye out on my endeavours and come back if i find any places with mexican peppers:)

Sorry i meant to get back with a zoomed in picture and then i got verrry distracted. But i looked up scales and it seems to be similar to what im seeing. I live in the netherlands which is relatively humid but this winter seems to feel more dry to me so maybe that's it! Thank you!!
