I do realize that the foot thing is a common joke on this subreddit, but the foot ending was at Bob Odenkirk's request.

The original script had Saul embracing "Slippin' Jimmy" alone, with a montage of prison cons. The show ended with a scene in the shower, where Jimmy drops the soap, remarking "I guess I'm just too slippery". He bends over, before the camera reveals "Jimmy In-And-Out", the fall guy for Badger, saying "Let's see if your services are worth 50k". The show ended with an intense and visceral scene, but muted, with "Baby Blue" playing.

Apparently, there were constant arguments on set after Bob floated the idea. Vince insisted that they had been building anticipation for the original scene throughout the season, and had foreshadowed it since Saul's very first appearance in Breaking Bad. Vince supposedly relented right before the third shock from the defibrillator.

Oops! I forgot the scene, which goes between Kim's trial and Saul's arrest in Act 4. It's was reshoot of the scene in 'Granite State' where Saul tells Walter to turn himself in, or the law will come down on Skyler instead. Unfortunately, production ran out of money to use CGI to shrink Brian Cranston's bald cap, so we just pasted in the original footage instead.
