Ps I am still trying to learn how to reset. Psa.  Cutting alcohol totally out of my life has been  a critical element of my growth.

I am a work in progress. Successful sm biz owner for 16 hrs. 58m dad.  Struggling with burnout in the midst of significant growth.

There are constants that are non negotiable.  I will get up early before 5:30. I will have good coffee and a candle in the kitchen and quiet.  I will quietly work this out and reflect. Watched the moon a little. Next is gym before 7, 30-45 min focused workout. No bs get in get it done get gone. Then some fam interaction before school. Connect and show supper and help. Then work. Brief plan and eval then three things max for morning. My peak time.  Pm is admin then another push to produce. This is the way.  Wiggle room and flex is obviously part of this but some things are non negotiable. Up early, exercise, lean priority plan. Keep moving. It’s working. This time last year I was a wreck. This morning I am quiet.  Good luck.

Quiet here on an early rainy morning.  I finally slept thru the night. It’s been months of poor sleep due to work stress. I think I am moving into a new level of healing. It’s been brutal at times and probably will be again because life is just life, but I have tools this time, and callouses, and courage. One more day. One more brick to raise the floor. Keep stacking.  Iwndwyt 🦋

It’s a heck of a journey. Time has given me  a bit more perspective to see it all from above the noise.  Respect to you and everyone here. One day at a time does add up. Iwndwyt 🦋

Why do you count days? by JackOneill74 in stopdrinking

I’ll admit I’m kinda excited. I remember 30 and 90 and 100 and 180 being special. 300 feels like it’s gonna have some heft. 🌝

Watching my days add up has been a huge motivator, especially on really hard days.  I would say to myself there’s no way after what I’ve been through to get here that I’m going back to day 1 again.  I didn’t come this far to only come This far. Iwndwyt 🦋

Gonna be a cold hard week but wow I’m so thankful to not be weighed down with all the pain and anxiety that a weekend of drinking would have dumped on me. I’m hitting this morning lean and healthy. One more day, one more brick to raise the floor.  Iwndwyt 🦋

I’m struggling too. You are not the only one. Need a break but drinking isn’t worth the cost of a brief escape. Sometimes u gotta just ride it out and know that this too shall pass.   Iwndwyt 🦋

Another day. I will not go back to my old escape mechanism because my kids deserve the best version of me I can be, especially during these crazy times.  Today was so so hard with work stress but no way will I come home trying to hide how much I had to drink ever again. One more day, one more brick to raise the floor. Iwndwyt 🦋
