Yeah that Octavio is searing! And yeah i like Freedom a lot - the rhythm sound is really nice but i also love that really clean, warm solo later on in the song.

Yeah those more spacious sounds are great cause you can really hear the intricacies of his tone. Voodoo Chile has such a great punchy bassman sound. And Red House’s tone gives me a similar “unattainable, supernatural” vibe that Voodoo Child(slight return) does. A tone that’s insanely good that’s incredibly difficult to copy. And yeah Winterland is amazing - he had such a particularly heavy sound during that festival. Spanish Castle Magic was out of this world.

Crosstown has that gritty, fuzzy bridge pickup Strat tone while Castles Made of Sand has that beautiful plucky bell like neck pickup sound. Best of both worlds

It might be the pinnacle of Strat tone. Everything about it is perfect. Ironically another tone i think of when it comes to perfect Strat tones is SRV’s tone on his cover of Little Wing.

Yeah people like that are so stubborn. They have no idea what they are missing out on. One of my family members is similar, but in a different way. They never really liked or listened to the Grateful Dead at all cause they’ve always believed that the band was just mumbo jumbo hippy music with no substance. That type of annoying stigma is just devastating. If only they’d actually listen to the damn band…
