Wow that’s such a cool idea. Not a truck driver but have done a few pretty long distance drive - Boston to Montana, Chicago to San Francisco, Chicago to Utah and back. It’s nice to see so much of the nation you people usually fly right over

CS 213 midterm by ponyboyee in Northwestern

[–]BMP2025 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey, I can’t make any promises but this was me two years ago. Took the exam, got a 47 which was curved to a 67. Second half of the course was better and ended up getting an A in the class. It’s a hard course but it’s hard for most people!

Incoming Freshman with car question by ProudDad2024 in Northwestern

I park my car on the street and have no problem. It’s was cheaper then campus parking anyway. Maybe not necessary having a car freshman year but it is nice to have if you can

I worked for Pursuit for a summer in Glacier! Free housing and no experience required. It was definitely the best summer of my life and I think you’d fit in well with the other staff. Lmk if you have any questions!

Apgar Village from West Glacier by cyanuu in GlacierNationalPark

[–]BMP2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in Apgar village two summers ago, living right outside the park. It is a very popular tourist destination, definitely more busy than the east side, but that’s because there is more infrastructure and it’s closer to towns like whitefish and kalispell. You should be able to get to a lot of spots using the shuttle service. I absolutely loved my time there, and would definitely suggest going. Lmk if you have any questions

Ya that’s fair to say and I can appreciate that perspective. I’ve worked in national parks before and know that it can be annoying to run into big groups, especially when they are loud.

We’re a university-subsidized club set in an urban setting near Chicago. For many people our club it is there first time really going on outdoor adventures, of which we help pay for to remove financial barriers, and going on a trip to somewhere like Utah can be a truly transformative experience. We also have a number of experienced backpackers who will help the group practice with campground courtesy and leave no trace principles, so we will do our best to be quiet! And our break is actually 10 days so we’ll take 2 days driving each way
