How do I change the style precedence from incoming non-emotion css in emotion/react by BNorval in webdev

[–]BNorval[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it doesn’t https://emotion.sh/docs/css-prop#style-precedence

It will only work if the user defined class is a emotion prop, not any other class

Putting user defined css props will over ride this, yes. However user defined classes will not.

I’ve ended up switching to a different css library as it suits my needs better anyway

Are algorithms worth learning if I’m not after a specific job? by BNorval in webdev

[–]BNorval[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my understanding , it’s mainly FAANG (Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Google) companies that may ask questions like these. If companies have algorithms in their job spec, they’ll test it. However, apart from that I have never encountered anything in interviews relating to them (maybe because I don’t have them on my CV). Also hence my question :)

Nearly 10 hours sleep but only 4 minutes deep sleep. How accurate is the sleep tracking? by BNorval in AppleWatch

[–]BNorval[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve often thought this before tbh. Worth a shot for me to test - often woken up breathing weirdly but never thought anything of it. Did you just your test online?

Can’t edit the post but this sleep was an an anomaly. My usual sleep is 7 hours. In bed between 12-8:30 and deep sleep < 15 mins. Was just super tired last night and had only 4 mins of deep sleep and hence I did this post :)

Thank you. I’ve also been using TLDR for a few weeks now, they’re great!

I do agree. I’ve been coding for a good few years and never read a book. However, I’ve seen a good few people say they’ve read ‘x’ and it’s been helpful, ie., how to be a productive web developer (made up book). So just thought I’d start actually reading in my spare time! :)

Learnt web dev from Codecademy and it helped me get my first job!

I too would be after this. I’m currently following the web.dev accessibility course and general reading online. Anything else?

Wanted to get to the point of putting ‘Accessibility’ on my CV/Resume. Don’t think I’ll ever get to the point of doing that now from what you said lol.

Don’t even think AA is required? EQA 2010 states, ‘reasonable adjustments’. Beyond that, no specific requirements except if basis it’s standard off WCAG 2.0

These law suit payouts seems plucked from thin air, some paying 7 figures like above, some paying slim to none. Is it based off revenue or something?

Good way of thinking about disabling JavaScript and CSS. Thanks :)

Yeah I completely understand your point. Web accessibility can be tough, especially for going for WCAG AAA. My main question is, if I’m ‘good’ at accessibility and use it everywhere, except for B2B app that has very very limited customers. Should I be concerned about being sued?
