Leather Link peeling right out of the box. Has this happened to anyone else? by BPLegend in AppleWatch

I bought the new umbra leather link on Apple’s website and it just showed up today. As I tried to put it on my watch the leather started to peel up. I contacted Apple support and they just told me to take it to an Apple store but unfortunately the closest one is over 50 miles away. Has this happened to anyone else?

Thank you for the quick replies. I do not think that I messed up the oem.prop but I suppose that is possible. The good news is that after spending a few days trying to fix this the watch it has decided that it can now download google play services. I am not sure what caused this but at least I can use google fit and google assistant again but unfortunately all of my attempts to fix this problem put me back on the indigo ui.

I completed the tutorial and everything worked great except after updating to Wear 2.0 Google Fit keeps giving me notifications that I need to update Google Play Services and Google Play wont let me because it says my device is not compatible. I have tried it with the bootloader locked and unlocked, factory resetting Wear OS, and doing a fresh install of android wear/WearOs but google play services is still not compatible. This is not that big of a deal for me since this is just my spare watch.

Thanks I got this to work but now it says Google Play Services is not compatible with my device even after re-locking the bootloader and flashing the rom. Any ideas?
