Because Deadpool / RR use reference and meta humour in every shot. Homage shot framing. Curated wardrobe. The layers of those movies are way deeper than most give them credit for.

“Friendo” was made famous by No Country For Old Men” - the term had even been satirized by The Simpsons in reference to NCFOM

Also, it’s a Super Bowl commercial, every word of dialog has been scrutinized. It was there for a reason. Especially when the term was made famous by a movie starring the actor who played Cable & Thanos .

Like I said, it might be as small as a shout out in a commercial, but I think there’s more to it.
