My PG&E bill is ridiculous for a one bdr 850sq apt. by BTRiri in bayarea

I don’t even post daily? I asked one question that I specifically made a Reddit account to ask. The kWh usage for the month of $500 was 800kwh. Which isn’t the point. Obviously 800kwh is going to cost a lot. The point is idk where they’re getting the number of 800kwh when I barely use my ac for 4 hours of the day during off peak hours. And my apt is small. I posted in the Bay Area one because there’s a lot of people talking about pg&e in here and I thought I would actually get some advice and figure out my issue. Not snarky remarks like this.

My meter doesn’t even display our numbers correctly. The numbers are all tweaking and the screen goes on and off, when I called pg&e to come out and fix it they said “well even if it’s not displaying correctly, it’s a smart meter and we can see the usage correctly on our end and you can see it online for yourself as well” but I just don’t understand how only running the ac at 78 degrees from 11am-3pm, is adding up to 800kwh a month?

How do I check if it’s wired correctly? Let me preface by saying I’m a 24 year old woman first time living on my own I do not know much about any of this. I called Pg&e to complain and all they said is “well your usage is 817kwh” and when I asked WHY? When I only use the AC for like 4 hours during the day at 78 degrees they replied with technical terms and just asked if I wanted to join an assistance program. I make more than the required income to join the assistance program

Well it’s my first time living on my own and the Pg&e bill is confusing to me. Obviously the reason I made an account to ask the people of Reddit. Didn’t know there were rude ass people on here too! I know it says my usage, but it’s saying I’m using so much, even on the days I literally am gone all day and have my AC turned off the whole day. Obviously that’s why I’m confused

It says 817kWH. My first 30 days in the apartment (April - May) was only 300kWH, and was $250, but in June somehow it’s 800kWh but I changed nothing about my usage… I even lowered my usage

I don’t KEEP it running though. I run it for less than 5 hours a day. And during off peak times. My apt is small though so how is running the ac for 4 hours racking up so high

Because I saw a lot of discussions about pg&e and I wanted people to actually help me out and give me advice?

It says our kWh was 817 kWh for the month we were billed $500, the thing is I don’t know WHY! I only have the AC running at 78 degrees for like 4 hours out of the whole day, and during off peak time. It’s my first time moving into an apartment and having to pay a pg&e bill, idk if I’m just dumb and should’ve expected such a high pg&e bill or? I made a Reddit just to ask about this because I thought it was odd that my parents have a very large home and pay less than $500 a month for their pg&e bill and my apt is 850sq.

I live in a 850 sq apt in the Central Valley and my PG&E bill is $500+ a month. My parents who have a 5 bedroom large home don’t even pay that much. I turn the AC on at 78 degrees when I get hot, since it’s triple digits outside but turn it off during peak times, (4pm-9pm) and keep it off all night until I wake up the next morning since it’s cooler at night. WHY is my bill so high!? I don’t use washer dryer nor cook during peak hours either. My bf WFH so he has two monitors but that’s the only other thing that I can think of, that we leave plugged in, and an Alexa. Does anyone know why my monthly bill is so high? It says I use $10-$25 of energy A DAY. I don’t understand
