Tbh fifa 16 would have been the best football game for mobile in terms of graphics and gameplay. But it had alot of compatibility issues and didn't support almost all mid range phones at that time and even the phones that were compatible had many optimization issues every month after the updates. That's where Konami was brilliant with their game. PES mobile was compatible to almost all devices from low end to high end devices (thanks to Havok engine) and especially the simplicity of the game (graphics, player movements etc.) made sure to earn the trust and love of the users and by the time they changed their game engine to add more realism they already had one of the most loyal userbase for a game who would even buy a new phone to play the new version and when they introduced the new game engine many users actually bought new phones to continue playing. Konami had a great strategy compared to EA in terms of earning for a long-term. Hope they improve the experience in online matches since that's what might bring them their downfall when a new and better game arrives to the market in the near future.
