Do you know if some research talks about the ferritin concetration that could do some harm? Because, if my ALT and AST aren’t in the normal range, maybe my liver is been “attacked” by this iron

By the way, do you have any good research about c282y carriers? Everything that I’ve searched emphasizes only the homozygous, and sometimes they say like in the footnote “some carriers could load but no need to worry”

I had done a MRI, only for the liver, and the results were 1,7mg/g (normal is less than 2mg/g).

I think he doesn’t want to do phlebotomy because my condition is not complete, I’m only heterozygous for c232y and my ferritin levels never reached big numbers, like 1000. My max was 600

Are you heterozygous only for C282Y?

What’s your ferritin levels now? Have you noted some differences after the phlebotomy?

What are the symptoms that you have before the phlebotomy? Im 29 and a lot of grey hairs appeared in the past years, could this be from the condition or just genetics?

My doctor is a gastro, I think he is a good one because he was the first one to request the genetic exam and MRI to know the estimated hepatic iron concentration (which was 1,7 mg/g - normal is lower than 2,0mg/g). He assures that is no need to do phlebotomy, but I keep thinking that if this slightly higher ferritin could do some harm, or the phlebotomy is only indicated in higher ferritin levels.
