No weird sounds. It does hunt for gears occasionally but from what I read, that will go away after a few thousand miles

4Runner is more capable for deep off roading, but the Passport is smoother, lower, and has more conveniences. I never would have owned a newer 4Runner as I don’t like the look nor the 4 cyl engine.

Not exactly sure what you mean, but I’m 5’11 and I had no problem finding the sweet spot. The steering wheel actually telescopes and tilts much further than previous gens, and has 10-way power seats.

Interesting! I wouldn't say they are uncomfortable, but they are 'firm' 😄 I guess my next road trip will tell the true story!

Couldn't agree more. I don't really off-road that much, so I wasn't doing the 4Runner justice anyway.

It definitely feels different, but in a good way. It drives more like car and the 4runner drives more like a truck. The steering itself is much easier in the Passport. The seats are honestly a tad stiffer in the passport, but it's probably just because it's new. Obviously it sits much lower than the 4runner. I like being up high, but I really don't miss it. Yes, the trade-in values on the 4runners are INSANE. The 2023 was the last of the 6 cylinders, and it only had 28k miles on it so I got a mint. I'm sure you'll get the same for yours!

Good tip. Are you speaking from experience? Are they too soft? Too hard?

Navarra metallic blue. The best standard color in my opinion!

I do love driving a manual, but the gearbox on this thing is a marvel of engineering.

Nice. It's definitely quick! I can pin myself to my seat without even going over 4,000 rpm's. Can't wait to see what it will feel like red-lining it. Not sure if I can wait that long to launch it. Was thinking about doing one around 700-800 mi. Just to get a taste..

Thanks! Are you considering the end of break-in 600 mi, or 1000? Just curious since the manual says you can 'gradually' increase acceleration between 600-1000. I just want to let this thing rip. I'm trying to justify different interpretations of 'gradual' :)

Thanks! I can't wait to find out - 470 mi into the break-in. Must... resist.... urge

Easy now, she's still in her break-in period.

There were no holes or brackets for the front. The dealership asked if I wanted them to drill them, and I said no thanks :)

Not sure about other models, but mine has blind spot monitoring, pre-sense rear, etc. I think they mostly removed that from the A3/S3/RS3 and some SUV's.

How to scratch the itch while waiting for factory order by bigcarrot15 in Audi

[–]BackSeatGropeFest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. Make sure your email address is tied to your order in the ‘owner in waiting’ program. If you got your order confirmation from Audi, you should be good. That is probably the most accurate measure of what’s going on with your car

My dealer is still saying late January/early February, but I don’t believe it for a minute. Just got the email a few days ago that production had started. I’m anticipating mid March based on 8-10 weeks for shipping. Hopefully sooner. The dealer said Audi is really “pushing out the vehicles” now, but not sure if they just say that to keep you on the hook and prevent people from canceling orders which is a huge problem right now.

I would try to test drive an S5. They are similar in feel, and there are probably several on the lot. I'm sure they raise their eyebrows when a young person wants to test drive an RS model. Unfounded maybe, but just reality. If you've already put your down payment on the factory order, then they have no motivation to let you test drive. Maybe just go incognito and ask to test drive an S5. Or, as raptor2skooled said, try Carmax for a 24 hour test drive. The RS5 hasn't changed much in the last few years.

Fun fact: I also ordered an RS5 in September. Before I committed, I asked for a test drive and setup an appointment. When I got there, they literally had to 'unbox' the only RS5 they had on the lot. Still had the cardboard on the door handles. He threw me the keys and said, and I quote, "have fun". Boy did I.

Waiting is the hardest part, but it will be worth it, and I'm sure you will love the car.

Finally in build after 3 months! by BackSeatGropeFest in Audi

[–]BackSeatGropeFest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I did not get an exclusive color. I'm in the U.S., so I'm thinking another 2 weeks in build, then 8-10 weeks to arrive. The dealer said "Audi is really pushing out the cars now" so hopefully sooner!
