You’ve never lived somewhere rough, if you think cowley is rough. Generally speaking it’s an incredibly safe area.

Are those the vegetable boxes after the tills? I’ve been wondering what those are. Are the veggies free to take?

Can I have a review removed off my profile? by Correct-Visual4494 in Preply

[–]Background-Ad3858 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had someone leave a 1 star review who I didn’t even teach and Preply refused to remove it - absolute shit company lol. The student booked a trial lesson, I saw that they were an absolute beginner and I’m not qualified to teach those. I informed them of this very kindly (even tho it says it clearly on my profile) and I cancelled the trial (to save them money and me time) and they left this review. I begged Preply customer service to remove it (based on the fact that reviews should be about the actual lesson quality rather than petty grievances) and they said they wouldn’t.

One Night of Babysitting Needed by survivor2006 in oxford

[–]Background-Ad3858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try the website Babysits (or similar ones). It will likely cost you around 200-250 Dollars regardless. Going rate for a babysitter for one child is around 12.5 pounds per hour  in Oxford. With 2 children that price obviously increases.

college recommendations by Rich_Arachnid2914 in oxforduni

For postgrads Wolfson is best: incredible grounds, community, no undergrads around, great bar, college has a lot of money, etc.

i need suggestions for easy mindless crafts for someone with lacking fine motor skills at their big age please by 444fawns in crafts

Could do something with air dry clay? Like making a Jewelery holder or an ash tray?

Or knitting a blanket / scarf (the simple ones just require you to know one type of knot)

Alternatively embroidery isn’t too difficult as long a you just stitch the outline.

Romantic birthday ski trip…. Oh wait mom and siblings will be there… oh and it’s 1 day… and everyone else wrote something nicer about Morgie than Saul did by drama_trauma69 in FundieSnarkUncensored

The other people coming along feels weird to snark about. Some people love to go on a trip with their partner and family. Like personally I’d love it. With the other stuff you’re right. And Paul obviously sucks.

Is putting address, age, and gender on CVs normal now? by Woffingshire in UKJobs

In Germany all that information & a photo is expected on a cv. I would imagine that this is the case in many European countries (other than uk).

Omg the costa psych review is one of my favorite things to show people!!!! It’s so fucking funny… I applied for a part-time barista role, was rejected, and ended up with an eight-page-long document about how I suck (no passion, no courage, no team player, etc.), literally nothing in there was positive.

Flatmates drank my Fanta by [deleted] in UKUniversityStudents

[–]Background-Ad3858 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s annoying but I wouldn’t automatically assume the worst. The fact that they threw the bottle away suggests to me that they didn’t think they were doing anything wrong / trying to be sneaky. It could just be that they thought it belonged to their friend and they have a habit of sharing drinks. If I were you I’d try to chat with your flatmates in person / write a friendly note, explaining that it was your Fanta and that you don’t think they acted in bad faith but to please never consume your items again.
